Hello everyone, I don't know if this is useful so forgive me if it isn't Today, when I was building a map I was trying to make it so when the people break a pallet up in the Sky Bubble, the hornet would drop into a base down below on the main level. But when I tried this, I just couldn't get the hornet to drop into the exact location I wanted! As you know, when your character looks down in Halo 3, you don't completely look down. So, I had to get creative. Obviously, I've found the solution, and I will now give a step-by-step tutorial on how to drop items from the Sky Bubble in Sandbox precisely to where you want it to hit on the main level! Step 1. While floating above where you want it to drop in the Edit mode, look straight at the middle of where you want it to land. Note which general direction you were looking! Step 1A. Don't move in step 2! Step 2. Spawn a wall item, or something in that general size (and is floatable). Step 3. Go straight backwards until you're pretty high (Without moving your view, so you'll be going up) Step 4. Save changes, end game & go back to the map (to make the wall/other item float in air). Step 5. Go to the Sky Bubble. Step 6. Look straight down, and center your view on the wall/other item (in the opposite general direction you were looking in Step 1) Step 7. Drop your item Step 7A. As you see, it will hit the wall/other item. Step 8. Delete the wall/other item. Step 9. Start new round, and you will notice that the item you wanted to drop in that one specific location will drop there! Conclusion. And your done! Please note that it may be slightly off. Hope this helps!
Wow man, that sounds super complicated! Try using a second controller for an additional point of view, that way you will float objects exactly where you want them and save yourself 8 steps!
......I Meant, say you want someone to drop something from the Sky Bubble by destroying a pallet or something and you want it to drop in an exact place..........
Respawn areas don't get 100% precise because they don't get all that small. His method is fairly uncommonly needed, but it makes sense for when it is.
Yeah, and I ended up needing it (and then finding that the pallet's remains don't fall, so I abandoned the idea and just put the hornet down on the ground, which I just found that people will be able to just grab the hornet without capturing the territory >.<)
