SandInvasion Download Link: Map | Gametype Introduction: This is a map (and gametype) I made based slightly on Invasion from Halo: Reach. (the multi-tiered part) It works best for 4v4 but could work with up to 6v6. The attackers have to take a flag into the opponents base to win the round while the defenders have to defend their base. Phase 1: Objective: In this phase, the attackers have to get to the flag, which is at the end of a long path while the defenders are trying to snipe them. When the attackers reach the flag, they jump down to their deaths while holding the flag through the tube, which launches the flag into the base for the second phase. After either 90 seconds of the first phase or when the attackers destroy the grav lift which takes them to the next phase, the exit point for the defenders opens allowing them to kill themselves in the kill ball to get to the next phase. The attackers should only destroy the grav lift when they have completed Phase 1 as otherwise they would give the defenders an advantage (as they would have time to prepare) Spawning: The defenders start in an enclosed room with 2 snipers in, and the attackers start at the beginning of the path by a destroyable grav lift which can take them to Phase 2. Weapons: The defenders start off with two snipers to try and hold back the attackers. The attackers have 2 AR spawns next to their starting spawn if they need extra ammo to destroy the grav lift. There are also grenades to prepare for the remaining phases. Phase 1 Pictures Attacker's Path (man cannon launchs flag when dropped into it) Defender's Base (opens to next phase at 90 seconds.) Flag Spawn (pick up as you drop) Path to Phase 2 for Attackers (destroying grav lift opens path for defenders too.) Phase 2: Objective: This phase is all about escorting the flag to the crypt. (Phase 3) Usually, the flag will land in the base and the attackers have to take it on top of the base, across the bridge and then down the hole, while the defenders try to stop them. There is also a Man Cannon in the base that can be used as an alternative to taking the slope. There is an elevated position in the dunes which is good for attacking or defending purposes, as well as an outpost far away from the rest of the structures with a Rocket Launcher in. Spawning: Every time the defenders spawn, they always spawn in the Crypt and must take the teleporter if they wish to go to the main level. (Phase 2) They could come out at 3 different points, in the dunes, in the base, or by the hole to the crypt. The attackers always spawn in the Sky Bubble and must go through the teleporter there to get to the main level. Their teleporter will take them to an elevated floor of a building with weapons below. There is also a Man Cannon that can take a player to the Crypt (Phase 3) at any time. Weapons: On this phase there are also extra weapons on the map for either team to pick up and use. There is: • A Brute Shot in the base. (30 second spawn) • A Bubble Shield in the base. (60 second spawn) • Carbines at each teleporter from the crypt. (30 second spawn) • Various Carbines around the map. (30 second spawn) • Plasma Grenades and a Needler in the attackers spawn. (10 and 30 second spawns) • 2 BR’s, 2 Spikers, an Overshield and a Mongoose under the attackers spawn. (30, 30, 120, 30 second spawn) • Rockets out in the unused part of the map, however it takes a long time to get there. (Mongoose?) (120 second spawn) Phase 2 Pictures Overview First Teleporter from Crypt Second Teleporter from Crypt Third Teleporter from Crypt (Also, good vantage point over map) Top of Attackers Base (Man Cannon goes to Phase 3) Bottom of Attackers Base (Shield door at opposite side to Mongoose to prevent Spawn Killing. Top Exit of Attackers Base (Needler and 2 Plasma Grenade Spawns) Brute Shot, Bubble Shield and Carbine in Central Base Rocket Spawn Phase 3: Objective: The last phase involves more weapons and vehicles as the attacking team try to cap the flag in the defenders base. Both teams must use every weapon and vehicle they have to try and achieve their objective. The attackers have multiple entry points into the base. • High bridge which has fusion coils on to make it less overpowering. • 2 side entrances. • A step under the high bridge with a Power Drain on. Spawning: The defenders will spawn in the Crypt (Phase 3) every time they die so the attackers must play well to cap the flag. The attackers must make their way down from the Sky Bubble each time they die, by either Man Cannon at the start of Phase 2, or down the hole in Phase 2. If they go through the Man Cannon, they get extra weapons and vehicles to help them, so most of the time, it is better to go this way. It also takes less time too. Weapons: Any weapon can be brought down from Phase 2 but there are also new weapons, vehicles and equipment on this phase as well: • BR’s around the map. (30 second spawn) • A Deployable Cover under the attackers base at the back. (30 second spawn) • A Power Drain on the step up to the attackers base from the front. (60 second spawn) • A Regenerator on the top of the defenders base with 2 Plasma Grenades and a BR. (60 second spawn) • A Plasma Cannon in the defenders base. (150 second spawn) • A Sniper Rifle that spawns 180 seconds into the game in the defenders base (with a low ammo count though), and a Ghost. (180, 90 second spawn) • A Shotgun in the defenders base near the flag cap point. (180 second spawn) • 2 SMG’s also in the defenders base. (30 second spawn) • 2 Plasma Grenades and a Carbine on both side bases. (10, 30 second spawn) • 2 Plasma Pistols under each side of the attackers base. (90 second spawn) • A Sniper Rifle and a Turret in the attackers base. (180, 90 second spawn) • A Warthog in the attacker’s base. (although careful it doesn’t flip when you start to use it) (90 second spawn) Phase 3 Pictures Defender's Base Defender's Inner Base Defender's Base Inside Wall (for going to Phase 2 through teleporter) (Sniper also spawns near Ghost at 180 seconds.) Defenders Base - Top Side Bases (Both the same, one looks at each base) Attackers Base Inside Attackers Base Inside Attackers Base - Warthog Spawn Under Attackers Base Gametype Information: Base Gametype: CTF (I wanted to use Assault, however there was no way to stop the bomb from returning. Ways of Returning Flag: None Flag Carrier Movement Speed: 75% Starting Weapons: Assault Rifle and Magnum with no Starting Grenades. Game Length: 2 Rounds of 6 Minutes. Friendly Fire: Disabled (so the defenders can’t kill each other in their starting room. Respawn Time: 5 seconds with no penalties. Interesting! I won't DL though, because I have very few friends (and most don't even go on XLive anymore ) and playing it by myself would be VERY boring. And I also recently had to delete some custom maps because I was near the 100 custom map limit
I saw the title and i was like OMGLHRIM (Oh my god halo reach invasion map) But i'm a little bit disappointed. The map does have a pretty good idea just the execution in the forging isn't anything to scream about. Don't let me get you down though you might wanna check out the forging 101 and 201 tutorials for your future maps, Good Luck!!!
