Would anybody be able to show me how to merge immovable objects with the map geometry, I've tried to do this but am having no luck. Thanks
First, it would be nice if you asked in the right section. To be specific, the Forging 101 thread on Merging in Geometry. Second, it's explained pretty well in there. You don't get it? Use the door method.
I could show you if you want, just add me: X Evil Panda X I'm kinda bored and 14, so don't expect something that I'm not.
I'm sorry, I didn't know there was a thread for that...:squirrel_sad: And, sadly I don't know what the "door method" is. I did exactly as the instructions said but idk, mabey it wasn't possible to do where I was trying to merge it...When I saw the Customer Service thread I thought I would get help, not told there is a thread for this kind of help. Sorry. And thanks for offering to help Evil Panda, I sent the request.
Well, you place an immovable object against the geometry you want it merged with. Then, surround it on all sides with 'guides', other immovable objects. Then place a door so that it's not the door face on it, but the side that merges automatically with other objects. Once you place it down, grab the object you want moved, then quickly ungrab it. 90% of the time it should work. The other 10%, it screws up. So make sure you save before doing this.
Ok, thanks Nemihara. Thats much more clear now. I now see the light... Thanks for taking the time to explain that.
And if you want merging to work better, hold the object in place until in stays still then let go, and if you stuff it up, just grab it again instead of restarting the process. Also, for extra neatness, save & quit while holding it.
