I am generally a graphic art type of guy, but I took visual arts for my last semester of grade 12 to see what it would be like. I had taken media arts before, but it didn't quite have the same course aspects as visual arts. I am still trying to get the hang of visual arts, but I think I'm progressing at least fairly well haha! Visual arts is all the traditional art, such as painting, pencil work, etc. Anywho, here are some of my sketchbook works. Our teacher assigns a topic, ie. Flowers, and then tells us to do 4 sketches: Realism, Surrealism, Conceptual, and Abstract. Here are a few of my sketches: Eye: Realism Spoiler Flower: Realism Spoiler Flower: Conceptual Spoiler Brain: Realism (latest sketch) Spoiler Note: Feel free to leave some comments/critiques if you really want to. I'm gonna keep this as non-CnC, because I am just showing work, and not looking to make any changes to the works. Thanks!
"Visual arts is all the traditional art, such as painting, pencil work, etc. " Uh, what? Visual art is any type of art that you see. Basically, all art excluding music and scent art.
Thanks for contributing to the thread... First of all I was referring to the course, and second of all...Visual arts are art forms that create works which are primarily visual in nature, such as ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, architecture etc. You can perceive it however you want, however you don't need to tell me what it means, considering that isn't what this thread is about. Thanks anyway though xD Any other thoughts about my work?
Yeah, but you said visual art was only traditional art, which is false. I just wanted to make sure you knew that. Don't be defensive; I wasn't insulting you.
I really like your shading...There is a lot of depth in every sketch. I like your brain sketch the best, though
