Hey Guys, Im shure most of you will remember the latest Bungie ViDoc about adding Chess to Halo Reach. Yes I'm aware that this is the April Fools ViDoc, but when they are showing Chess, look at the backgorund. The whole 'Map' is a giant empty room with fully textured walls, windows and everything, it reminds me of the Crypt below Sandbox. Also, if you pay attention at 1:51, you will see a door leading outside. Why would Bungie create such a big Map with such a little Chess Board and a possible Landscape around it? Just to show us chess? Im sorry if this has been 'discovered' before, I searched, but I couldnt find anything. The guys over at grifball.com/grifballhub.com also believe this, but they have many other random reasons that deal with Grifball to believe that this is a customizable map.
The chess boundary and the indicators of where the players can move are the same areas for invasion. They're forged. Check Mate. Also, the areas seem exactly placed, suggesting either new forge capabilities or that bungie programed the areas not in game. Also, also, I noticed in the picture there are multiple objective icons, suggesting either new custom game capabilities or that bungie programed the icons not in game.
Since this could only be done on one gametype, I figure the symbols above the players heads refer to their class. I do not see any other way different symbols could be placed above characters heads.
I honestly think that the symbols are just Bungie messing with some code for the April Fools thing. I really don't think there will be a game with that much way-point variation. I could be wrong, just a gut feeling.
I guess you were implying that they put this map together so it probably is the foundation of a future but I think you'll find its probably the other way around. They never waste an environment. You're right, some things on the cutting room floor and scrapped in to things like this April Fools gag.
The environment looks like ****, TBH. And that blue spot? Maybe a map in progress, but probably not a new map like Foundry or Sandbox.
I think everyone noticed that this could possibly be a forging area, and it has been brought up in other threads, but I hadn't actually noticed the large opening out to the empty sky before, so this is something new to me I like it.
Well in the video it shows you as the "monitor", so yes. That at the very least is a guarantee for Forge being in the game.
probably a giant placable piece. this could be used to close the gap or make a bigass floor over the skybox.
When was the last time Bungie made something that easy. Having such a large movable piece would likely cause incredible lag every time it is picked up.
