Zombie League Gaming is hosting a Halo 3 Forge contest to see who can create the best Infection-based map. Will you be the one to make this masterpiece and snag 1,600 Microsoft points?

We like to keep you entertained. More importantly, we like to see you work. Most importantly, we like Infection maps, and you working on them. And thus, this contest has been born.

We're looking for the best Infection-based Forge map. It will be the trophy addition to our upcoming ZLG map pack, and we want you to make it. Along with being starred in our first ever map pack, you'll also be snagging a sweet prize: 1,600 Microsoft points. And, by default, you also receive epic bragging rights by proving you're the top dog when it comes to making Infection maps.

The process is simple. All you need to do is follow the guidelines we set for you below, and then go out and create a masterpiece and submit it to us via our email (more details on how the submission process works below).

Of course, with every contest, there are a few rules. If you fail to follow these guidelines, then your submission will be invalidated... No matter how badass your map is.

    Contest Rules:

    1. All Halo 3 maps (including all DLC) are acceptable.
    2. Your map must suit the "Save One Bullet" gametype.
    3. No budget glitching is allowed.
    4. Your map must have been created after March 15th, 2010.
    5. Stealing of others' ideas will not be tolerated; you must be original!
    6. All submissions must be sent in by June 15th, 2010.
    7. Only one map per entrant, so make sure your submission is the best it can be.

Now, you may be asking, how do I submit a map? All submissions must be sent in to our email at zombieleaguegaming@gmail.com by June 15th, 2010 at 11:59 PM EST. When you send in your submission, be sure to include...

    1. Your gamertag.
    2. A link to your map.
    3. A brief description detailing your map.
    4. Up to three screenshots.

So if you're a great mapmaker and want to snag some Microsoft points, hurry up and get to Forging! You've only got about a month to get in your submission! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Good luck to everyone who participates!

Sounds cool I might try and make a map if I have the time.

This does seem a bit like advertising though, how many websites have you posted this on?

Two or three others, website communities I'm close to (i.e. Defend the House and Black Water Ops), along with just Zombie League Gaming. ForgeHub is a huge Forging community and I assumed people here would like to participate.

Oh, and an edit to the rules: "Braaains" isn't a default gametype, and thus I've changed it to "Save One Bullet." I didn't want to use that originally in fear of it being too similar to the "Hub of the Dead" contest, but I guess I'll have to use it.

Hmm. Can I enter a map that I started only a couple of weeks ago (it's not finished yet so when I finish can I submit it)?

Go ahead. I'm willing to be a bit lenient with the rules, I just don't want people submitting maps from forever ago.

Ok cool. The thing is Im not sure how you can control that rule. If people have a map how would you tell when it was created. Doesnt matter.

    p.s: Love your sig.

If I remember correctly, there's a way to check when maps were created, or at least modified. I'm certain we'll find some way to background check the maps that make it really far into the judging anyway, so we'll handle it.

    And thanks.

We'll do our best to investigate those few that will make it to our final round of judging to determine that the maps were truly made under the cooperation of all the rules. We won't check every map for a creation date, but will simply do background checks after we've narrowed it down to the last few.

We'll probably use exceptionally awesome submissions that didn't quite make first in our first map pack that we're going to be making soon, and give them some cool honorable mentions and bragging rights, but other than we don't have any material prizes.

in the thread it says Your map must suit the "Save One Bullet" gametype. Does this mean that it can play other gametypes like brains and if so will it be judged alone on how it plays Save One Bullet?

It can be compatible with other gametypes, but in the final judging we will be using the default "Save One Bullet" gametype to judge how well it plays, so make sure your map suits it well.

This contest sparks a bit of interest for me...

I may just have to enter in a map in my free time.

I just have one question about this though: You said we can't budget glitch the map, but are we allowed to use an OLN canvas?

I'm not going to endorse this one way or another, but let's just say who's to know in the end...? Take it from there.

Is there anyway you can allow for slight editing for the gametype. I really feel like your limiting yourself with Save One Bullet. Weapon pickup is disabled and the zombies are very hard to kill. I suggest you make your own gametype. Make it a mix between brains and SaveOneBullet. Make the zombies weaker but not too weak but still keep the starting ammo low. If your the slightest bit interested message me and ill whip up a gametype for you.

I would encourage you look at Elliot's (GT: II elli0tH II) Der Staudamm map.

I suppose it's up to him to submit it but it's good nontheless.

I'll try and manufacture something myself though.
