Map Title: Crosswise cross·wise (krôswz, krs-) adv. also cross·ways (-wz) So as to be or lie in a cross direction; across: Download CROSSWISE Gametypes: FFA Team Slayer Multi-Flag Neutral Bomb Weapons and Equipment: Battle Rifles SMG's Spikers Covey Carbine Sniper Rifle Shotgun Sword Rocket Launcher Bruteshot Machinegun Turret Frags Plasmas Overshield Active Camo Bubble shield Flare Regenerator Description: Crosswise is my latest creation based on Neutral games. The map consists of 2 bases,a central "meeting" base,and the objective platform. Since this map was created with neutral bomb and flag in mind you will find yourself spawning in one of the two bases. Upon spawning you will make your way to the meeting base where you will find a man cannon shaft that will shoot you to the top of the base. After you get to the top you will see the bridge that you must cross to enter the objective platform. Here you will find either the bomb or the opposing teams flag. The flag setup is unique because both teams flags spawn in the same spot,forcing a Neutral feel. You will achieve this scenario by playing the Multi-flag variant because Bungie didn't include a neutral flag variant for some reason. Maybe it's just me, but I remember playing some sick neutral flag games in Halo 2,and for some odd reason Bungie didn't include it in the custom game variants. Anyways,now that you have grabbed the Bomb or Flag you have 2 options: 1. If in the clear, head back out the door,drop down from the bridge,run to your base and score, or... 2. Take the teleporter shaft which does the following few things... You will either fall down the safety shafts which allow you cover from the Ghost or other fire,or you go into a Death Box. When in a Death Box you have precious seconds to go back through the two way teleporter and back into the shaft to safety,or risk being blown to smithereens and having the bomb or flag stuck in there until they return. The battles can get hectic since there a a few meeting areas that force teams to battle each other and also the unpredictability of which way the carrier will go for the score. That I did my friend,and thanks for helping me test. I had the Defenders plant point in the Attackers base and vise versa. It's slightly confusing because in simple words you would assume "attackers" plant point would go in defenders base since the attackers own it and want to plant the bomb on it,but in actuality it is what you are defending not seeking to destroy.
This seems very cool the teleporter towers are a really good idea it makes CTF alot harder because the runner could go any which way
Yeah it does. The best part of this map is of the 3 or 4 test games we played two of them lasted 5 or 6 minutes or so,and 2 lasted like 2 minutes. It's definitely a challenge to meet up at the lift,battle your way to the top,get the flag or bomb and fight your way to the destination. And equally as hard to guess which way the carrier will go.
This map looks promising, I'm going to download and play this map. It's a nifty idea to have a flag room wherein both teams have their flag... however, isn't that kind of what neutral assault is?
True, but life is all about options right? Some people might like Flag better. Personally I do,and I liked the 2 flags in 1 spot idea.
I am really liking this map! Everything is interlocked perfectly, and the amount of thought you put into this really shows. The idea of having both flags has been thought of, but never done. And it looks like you have perfected it. I also like alot of the minor aesthetic touches. This is one of the things i like most in maps, and you have some great ones. The window panels leaning against the wall look perfect. The doors you interlocked to make them look part of the box are perfect and it looks like you mastered teleporter mechanisms to make secret passages that arnt too powerful but are very helpful. 10/10

After seeing this map in game, I strongly urge members to download this map because it is simply amazing. It looks cool and plays well.
Awesome map. Good stuff Creep, one of the more creative ones around. Yours always are. Its a shame about the budget glitch thing, but you still pulled off a winner even despite it. The neutral meeting base is a great concept. The man cannon shaft can be camped a little too easy if you're not careful, but i think the disorientation of the drop shaft at the objective platform (with its random destinations) makes up for it a bit. I like the neutral bomb setup for this map alot, I'd like to play some games to 5 on it sometime, I think it would play out better than to 3. The aesthetics and small scenery are done well. I think this is your best yet. Keep forging
I am pretty happy with this considering,like you said,the budget glitch mess up. For those that don't know this map was something completely different than what you see here. The only thing that remains from the original version is the meeting base. To make a long story short,I had a completed map and lost all remaining items,most notably the weapons. The only way to fix this was deleting most of it and bringing my budget back above zero. After that I was able to glitch some of the weapons and some of the items. I guess you could call this a half glitched map. And as usual Lights, you are the man and thank you for the good words,and obviously I will bug you to help test my Avalanche idea we discussed. Umm, yeah I guess it kinda is,but somewhat unintentional. I wasn't sure if people would know what Crosswise meant,because I pretty much never heard of it. The original name was Across but I thought it sounded generic.
