    General Description

Omega City is my latest and best city map. I've been working on it since late February, since the completion of Epsilon City.

Anyway, the map centers around eight distinct buildings of varying sizes. They are: The office building, the supermarket, the gas station, the store, the ruined cabin, and the three houses. There is also a very small forest on the edge of the map.

    Gametype: Final Hour: Download

    Humans:
    90% Damage
    90% Speed
    100% Gravity
    No Shields
slightly increased Damage Resistance (still die in one sword slash)
Start with assault rifle and NO grenades
    Normal Radar

    Zombies:
    90% Speed
    100% Gravity
    No Shields
    Increased Damage Resistance
    Enhanced Radar

    Now for some screenshots...

    The Office Building
    [IMG]
It is two stories tall on the interior, but looks three stories from the outside due to the thick roof/ceiling. That's a fire escape ladies and gentlemen...

    The interior upstairs...

The Office is also the home of the large restroom with the two stalls. This has a separate entrance though.

    Supermarket
    [IMG]
Those columns on the roof are actually air conditioning units and vents.

From here you can see the deli (left), shelves (middle), and check out aisles (right).

    Gas Station
    [IMG]
There are two rooms, the actual interior of the gas station, and the restroom on the right... props to Zombieland for idea...

    The Store
    [IMG]
The Store is one of the smallest buildings, however it contains a magnum, an assault rifle, and a custom powerup.

    The Forest
    [IMG]
You can see one of the two trucks at the bottom of the pic^
The forest is a dangerous place, with its extreme permeability and close quarters, many survivors that wander into its depths are infected. However, the tree branches above offer some good vantage points.

    The Ruined Cabin
    [IMG]
The Ruined Cabin is an interesting structure. With two entrances and a heavily compromised roof, the typical survivor may find this building to be unsafe. However, inside there is a dome that is made out of fallen rubble. While dangerous because of its close quarters, the dome is still a viable resort.

    Residential Street
    [IMG]
The residential street is home to three houses. The roofs are accessible by jumping from the forest or the Ruined Cabin.
    The Backyards^

Now I know everyone loves action shots. I wanted to do something with a copied from Zombieland twist

Looks good, but the area in front of the residential street looks really open and looks like it could cause a lot of zombie deaths. Otherwise it looks amazing. The buildings are aesthetically amazing as are all of the other structures. The truck looks like it cost about $20, which I believe is the same price as a hog, so why not use that? Sure, the chain-gun may not fit the theme, but overall I think it would look better. The roofs look like they would be camped a lot though. And where do the zombies spawn..?

Anyways, great map - it looks great. If I can find two thing to delete I'll give it a DL and see how it plays.

How balanced are all of the buildings? It seems like these types of maps usually have one "good" building that everyone camps. However, it does look like you have done a great job of making sure each area has its pros and cons.

I'll download and let you know what I think, I can't judge a book by its cover (but it looks great from the cover lol).

I downloaded this map and played with some friends and i have to say its pretty well balanced. I love the zombieland references and if you dont mind, where is the 7 wood?

The 7-Wood is in the bed of a pick-up truck between the Supermarket and the office.

I love how all the buildings look just how you said, they have some great asthetics. The truck is a cool Idea aswell. Those rules are awesome just like off zombieland. :) well done this is great. I'm gonna check out your other city maps now

This is a very well made map.
You definitely attained an urban feel that I feel you were going for except for say the trees which were well done (as well done as can be made with blacks).
A recommendation I have however is instead of building the pickup trucks is to actually just put a warthog down and either put the weapon in the back or lean it against it. Sure it's not as original but it would conserve objects and budget to put in my next request which is...
A **** ton of fusion coils in the gas station.
Replace the red columns with stacked fusion coils and pin them with weapon holders.
I know the gas station doesn't blow up in Zombieland but it would be so flipping cool to lure zombies close to the gas station then blow them to hell. Just make it so that the fusion coils don't respawn so the humans can't just keep blowing it up.
    Just a personal request.
My favorite part of the map however is the office building.
The tight quarters in culmination with the fire escape entrance provide for some interesting gameplay and is by far the most balanced part of the map meaning the humans and zombies have equal opportunities to kill each other.
I think the street could have been decorated (or littered) a little just to help tighten it up just a bit or better simulate the apocalyptic feel, but to each his own.
You've done a good job and I encourage you to keep up the good work.
