As we all know, not all of us are as up to speed with technology as others. Most notably, the middle aged and elderly. Now don't get me wrong, there are exceptions. When I see an older man sitting in a cafe on his iPhone playing a game, it's a great thing.

But for the rest of them, they have strange questions, strange theories, and strange thought processes about technology.

Do you have any interesting stores to fit the subject?

I sure do, involving my dad.

    ----

Note that at the time of this story, we only had dial-up internet, (this was probably 4 or 5 years ago) So my dad goes out, and buys a wireless router, and places it on top of his old computer's tube monitor and this is what he says to me: "Where is the internet? Why isn't it making internet?" ... Not only are his attempts at getting a faster internet connection flawed, but the fact that he didn't plug in any of the wires anywhere, not even the power chord to the wall...

    Ha, that's great.

Well, I remember when my dad tried buying his first computer. The only thing he was missing was the computer, he actually called me to come to his house and try fixing it. He had bought a mouse, keyboard, speakers and a monitor. No computer.

    These are hilarious.

Uh, my dad bought my granddad a mobile. He forgot the PIN number for it. So, he had to get rid of the phone. New phone. Now, whenever someone calls him and the phone rings, he thinks: "What is that sound?"

Blame my mom. My dad is a genius with computers.

She still has troubles turning on the TV. And she always calls me to help her.

Its just that our generation is developing and changing for that matter, alot more quickly then it ever has. I mean one example, is that before the Iphone/Itouch, there was really wasen't any 'easy to hide game devices in class'. However now, just after a a year or so, its a popfad to have one and play games on it. For the older generation, all this tech is more confusing, and as we were born into tech, its easier for us then anything else.

When ever we go over to my grandma's house for a holiday we turn on the TV to like the sports channel and she always tells us to only use the one clicker and to ONLY press the power button like if we touch anything else it will mess up. Its funny because she only knows how to use that one button and anything else shes scared of.

That sounds alot like my girlfriend. She would lounge or take refugee, in my bed and then freak out because she doesn't know how to use the remote for the DVR.

    That's my grand-ma with a computer.
She doesn't even know how to type... Probably the easiest thing to do on the computer.

My grandma had to stay at my house for 2 weeks over last summer. So I'm playing.. Think it was Red Faction: Guerilla online talking to friends. I overhear her talking to my dad saying that I talk to the tv. I keep telling her I'm not, but she doesn't believe me. Well, what are you going to do though? Worst comes to worst she'll say it on the Christmas card.
