So I was playing some MW2 spec ops the other day and I thought to myself, "damn this would make a fun gametype in Halo 3..." So I set off to work on Wardriving, a Halo 3 minigame. This is basically a semi-remake of the Spec Ops mission Wardriving, in which buildings must be held for about a minute to capture it. I have run into some difficulties, however, listed below.

    1. I would like to make it more like the actual mission, where the "download" is initiated and continues on its own until a defender gets close to it, but I have no clue how to do something like that without making the attacking player have to stand within a couple feet of the computer.

    2. The Striker. I'm not sure how I would implement this into the map, maybe a warthog or a scorpion that is passenger only and moves automatically via timed grav lifts/mancannons.

    3. The final building. I've made a few already, based on the buildings in the actual mission. The last building, however, I am stuck on. I want to make it more challenging than the other two, but I don't want to remake the one from Spec Ops. Possibly might be looking for an extra Forger for this one.

Tell me what you guys think so far.

By the way, yes I will add a roof to that one building, sorry. lol

Well actually, I started a project like this a while back ago. If you'd like, if you haven't started yet, I could go ahead and give you the map.

    Here it tis.

Good ideas in your map. I like how the attackers have to unlock the next area for the scorpion. Mainly that is what I want to do, but not allow the attackers to drive it but sit in the turret while a mancannon that you somehow unlock would move it to where it needs to go.

I actually have a map already... It's about 80% done I would say. I'm going to upload pics within the next 10 minutes or so.

For this you could do something like this, where the bomb plants become "un-plantable", making the attacking team have to move on.

Well, the thing about mini-game remakes of other video games is that you have to warp and change a lot of things so that it works for Halo 3. So keep that in mind when you're making the game.

As for the striker, what you might do is make a curb on the street that is slightly high enough so that a scorpion can't move off of it, then just let the scorpion move up and down the street at their leisure. This would work because a scorpion generally couldn't get up a vertical wall period, so if you avoid placing grav lifts on the map a scorpion wouldn't be able to get over a slightly over sized curb. Just an idea.

Woah, didn't even think about an assault gametype, that would work great I think! What I would do is make the timer like a minute, if an enemy comes close it immediately disarms the bomb... The only problem is that rather than resuming, it would completely reset the bomb. But it's better than what I have now, definitely.

It's just a temporary name so people can identify it as what it is.

Learn from my mistakes: Those fences are completely jumpable and people will hate your map for the rest of its playtesting. Excuse me if those are just placeholders.

Yeah I just put them there so people can see where the boundaries are, no worries. Actually, the first thing I do when I dl a new map is try to break it so I know what to watch out for when I make my own maps.
