MLG Oboro Created by Korlash Supported Gametypes: Team slayer (2v2/1v1) or FFA slayer (3-4 players) Map Description MLG Oboro is a small mlg map that i attempted to make in a corner of longshore, and it turned out better than i thought it would be. I also tried to add enough cover without making a bunch of cramped areas. For the weapon set, i thought there were good enough lines of sight to have 2 120sec no clip snipers across from each other. There is also a 90 sec custom OS (1 recommend 2x), 120 sec camo, and none of the powerups or power weps are placed at the start so you can start the game with just nades and BR's. There are also some brs and carbines laying around for more ammo when you need it. And now for the screens: Partial Overview [/img] Another overview [/img] overview of bottom [/img] attacker's side (camo and snipe spawn) [/img] another overview of bottom [/img] Defender's side (OS and other snipe spawn) [/img] i hope the post turned out ok, i havent ever made a post, but ive checked out maps for a while now, so i thought about finally posting a map of mine here. If i get good feedback, i'll post some more of my maps, so please....check my map out and hope for more.. Edit: sorry i said "also" so many times, i just noticed that. Download MLG Oboro
Your not supposed to have Active Camo on MLG maps. Otherwise looks nice. 3.5/5 from the pics. Edit: Are those orange boxes I see?
There is nothing wrong with camo at all in MLG! Anyway, very unique and inventive. Nice change of scenery from Foundry or Sandbox. Next time though maybe colour code your boxes to make it easier for callouts. Definate download from me!
I dont think there is a sure fire rule against camo in MLG i just think it is not commonly used. But the map looks very unique. I do believe this is the first MLG on Longshore, and to put it in a corner, even better.
It's fairly commonly used; overshields are far less common and not in the circuit, but are allowed theoretically, if done right.
Well, i can say that this is the best competitive map on Longshore i have seen yet. It has an appealing structural look that I really like, also this reminds me of a map I was making on Avalanche for some reason and it gave me a few ideas, so thanks for the ideas and great map.
Thanks for the positive feedback on my first post @T3RA PROWL3R: yea some boxes turned out to be a yellow-orange kind of color, but im not sure how. And the door sealing a hallway has a maroon color effect, which i thought it looked cool. @WastedMammoth: Ah i wish i could but i dont know how or if you can control what the color is when you use ghost merging, and i ghostmerged nearly the entire map. As far as camo goes, all i knew about it was that its allowed in mlg, but i just wanted to give it a try, to match the OS. I'm not very tactical with weapon placement
i could not believe to see that this is on long shore! not many MLG maps are on long shore and this is the first i think. looks very clean and the merging techniqes apear good to. good job! 4/5
There are 2 OS's on the circuit and 0 Camos, I think you have them mixed up. Either way, both are allowed, just as long as they flow well with the map.
There is OS on The Pit and Construct and an Active Camo on Guardian. All are used in the Pro Circuit. Anyway nice map. I like the fact that you used Longshore to make a 2v2 map.
I am not much of an MLG player but from your pictures this looks like you spent a hefty amount of time working on it. I dont know the mechanics of an MLG map but I think the color code idea would work well for those serious players More or less this is a great map, I will try it just on a slayer variant of mine and see if it works out. 4.5/5
Wow! First MLG map I have seen on Longshore! I love the arches and it looks like this will play well. One thing however, the snipe is too close to the Camo. P.S-How did you ghost merge on this map, I can do it on every map except this one.
