I was playing around in forge lately, and I may have stumbled on a new glitch. I merged about ten items together and I noticed that the side of the wall doubles that wasn't getting touched by the the suns rays was a different colour. I experimented with it and also found out that if a blue/red light was held up to it it would lose the unique color. As soon as I moved the light away, however it got its colour back. On my map that is to come soon I already forged a dark green wall, a magenta wall, a dark red wall and a yellow green wall. I am guessing the more merges the darker the colour, the distance merged in decides actual color. This is going to be the theme of my new map tone. Help would be greatly appreciated. GT: xA LeGiT TaCox Edit: I have been doing more investigating and found out that the Blue light makes it lighter and the red light make darker if held at the correct distance. Also if both are held at the correct distance it should more or less change to the original colour. Here are some shots of the investigation. wow this sounds really amazing! could you possibly supply a picture? I'm also not sure I understand fully, do you merge like ten walls together in the exact same spot to get these colours?
Sounds awesome, you should upload a small pic or two and definitely put up a tutorial when your map is done.
i think the rule "pictures or it didn't happen" is coming apparent (not that I dont believe you, i'd just like to see this) maybe a video of you merging wall by wall, showing the changed, Also have you tried testing this in all 3 layers, and once in the dunes? If it takes 10 items I dont know who would use it, but this is interesting stuff, post findings please (with pictures for authenticity)
I have placed some objects which end up looking like they're in shadow thta was just done by their location and was not intentional. It sounds interesting but as Moran said, I don't see it being that useful if you need 10 objects to produce the effect on just 1.
Interested. Ill help you investigate if you need help. Also this wont be limited to sandbox either. It will be all maps.. Screen shots please.
z-lighting effects look it up in the forge dictionary This is nothing new to me, just annoying and ya: pictures or it didnt happen
Tis true, investigating it now with him. Red lights make it go darker when you take them away after introducting them for a few seconds, blue makes it lighter then you take it away its lighter. Both together then moved away resets the colour to normal.
I'm assuming that this is done along the main gold line across sandbox's floor. In which case, not even remotely new. Look at any map on the main level, there's bound to be one block with odd lighting effects.
