FFA 2-8 TS, ODDBALL, KOTH, Juggernaut Gameplay:After many tests this map plays better than you could imagine. There are only 19 spawns, but they have been tweaked for maximum FFA playability. The lines of sight can range between close and long range. This gives almost none of the "power weapons" that over powering feeling. The best tactics while playing slayer gametyes is to keep yourself mobile and to use your environment when ever you can. The map is so complex that you can get out of almost any sketchy situation through a few drop downs or lifts. While on the subject of map use, this would be a great time to explain the maps geometry. There are 3 elbows on each side, one is higher than the other, while the other is lower, 6 floors of awesomeness (Hint the prefix Hex-), and whole lot of tactical jumps (Can you find them all?). Not to mention there are three lifts (Stand next to the up arrow). At first, like all of the testers, you'll feel that feeling of being lost in a maze and feel very paranoid. Though, once you play 2 game on Hexaplex you'll know exactly where you are and what you are doing... believe me when I say that games get close and competitive once you get used to it. Side Note: No OLN objects were used in the making of this map... it is completely in budget. I still cannot believe how large this map is, and the man cannons (mainly the bigger one IMO) are truly epic. I'm glad to have been able to get a couple testing games in on it, and I'll definetely be downloading it to see if I can spot any of the changes since then. I already know it plays well.
The pics are too small to begin with but I'm still young and my eyes haven't gone bad so I'll deal. - Picture 10 (what looks to be the above ramp in picture 1) looks too wide in comparison to the rest of the map. - my opinion - The active camo is placed in a poor spot, even if you got it the whole world would see you anyway. - my opinion + The floors and walls look beautifully merged, at least well enough for smooth game play. Except for picture 8, that looks a little questionable.
Bigger pictures would be appreciated . Looks like a great, original map. I especially like the lighting, but maybe purple would look better? YouTube- Screenshots Tutorial - Halo 3 Forge Forums [TinyPic]
I can only afford 2 lights and putting two red lights make for the most vibrant light. Future thread reminder... I only take critisisms from people who have played the map so please play before you speculate. I can't do anything about the tiny pics... My iPod just makes it that size. If someone could up the size for me I would gladly edit my post. Invis is very useful.
-The pictures though smaller than normal, are a fine size and you can see the map perfectly in them. -The ramp in picture 10 is supposed to be that large... Its a heavily used area and its not nessicarilly even a ramp, just an incline in the floor. -The active camo is by no means placed in a poor spot, and i doubt you have played this so you didnt even have the right to comment about that. It is a perfect spot for camo considering unlike other maps you have to work to get to the top and to get to the bottom, its not like your always traveling upward. -I agree that everything is beautifully merged, and i absolutly love this map. The gameplay is so much different and so much better than most other FFA maps and the layout is just phenomenal. Throughout the many MANY MANY testings i did on this map with you, i can proudly sit here and say its in my top 10 favorite maps created.
Wow man it took you long enough. How many tests did you run haha, anyway its a great map, i really love the game play although with a max party ffa it got pretty hectic.
UPDATED PICTURES Thanks to Youtube I tested it 74 times, went through 80 versions, and worked on it for a good 2 months.
i like it, i love it, i want some more of it... this map is awesome. i really like the layout, this map is basically everything i've been trying to do for ages done way better than i could ever do. fantastic. i like the camo spawn, and the map in general. great job.
This is the map that pops in my head when I think of multi-leveled. The amount of work you ut into it is insane. Are you still considering Atlas?
The next time you're on you're going to have to walk me through on how not to screw up my Atlas post. I think I'll need some people for Atlas videos. Mind helping me out?
Damn hat this map looks very fresh and unique. i cant believe i havent seen this yet. Youre still on my main accounts list but you should really add my HezbollaHector account because thats the only one i play Halo on anymore. I would love to see this in forge or run some games with you!
Great job! Im excited that you finally released this map, I remember seeing it in map preview section and Im glad that you turned the filters off. Hope to see more maps from you!
I wanted to say something along the lines of damn this took you forever, or this is awesome, but it seems that most of the people have all ready done that. All I can say is that this is truly a good map. I enjoyed the many of tests you did on it and game-play was always fun. The many lifts you have made movement around the map easy and smooth. Even though the layout is a little complex and confusing once you play the map a few times you get a hang of it and you end up having a lot of fun. Definitely when your able to drop down on someone and assassinate them from the top of the head. : ) The only thing I think this map needs more of is Hats and missile-pods
^This Last night you took me through a semi-chronological build of this map through its many many forge stages and the changes couldn't have been more for the better. It's so much fun and complex and purty, you should be proud.
Hey man, it's sweet you finally posted this! I know I’ve already told you this, but I really do like so much of the unique geometry you have on this map. And I really do like the “double man-cannon.” (Even though I know people have already been making a lot of comments about it.) Having both the chutes layered on top of each other is something I definitely haven’t seen before. Very original indeed. We did have the problem of always overloading the map with too many people. And consequently it was pretty hard to grasp just because of the absolute chaos. But once we actually had a game on it with just 8 people, It really did play very solidly. It’s great always having you in the custom games we do. Not only are you very cool, but you’re good at forging as well. I’m excited to see the new map you’re working on. As soon as you’re getting it somewhat close to finished send me a version of it for sure. And we’ll play test the hell out of that map too!
I am actually making my next map with Nonduel customs in mind (Bigger games). I have the general layout, well laid out. Just trying to figure out these bases and side bases, and then poop (randomly disperse) a layer of original flare all over the place (symmetrically)... looking forward to testing it in the future. These positive comments keep me forging.
This map is very unique, the way the map is layered puts so many people on your radar and gives you paranoia, so much fun, the only problem I had was that there weren't enough railings, but it looks like you fixed that!
