A while back I made a map called Storm Water. There is a link in my sig. Everyone liked this map, but it had problems. One, the zombie spawn was campable and Two, it was really small. I have now decided to go back and remake this map, but this time bigger and better. Notes: - Infection map (possibly 6 player FFA) - It will have Gloomy filter on (I know lots of you will be like NOOO... not filters! Trust me, Storm Water worked extremely well with filters.) - It needs a second floor - No I cant build it in the crypt! Why? Its a secret. Updates: - Created a sweet main drop in shaft. Hope it turns out as good in forge. - Uploaded pictures of ^. Pictures are below: Overview. - The centre tube is not accessible, its merely just a LOS breaker for the bottom level. - The two tubes on the top and bottom are drop in points from the top level. - The tube corner on the right side is a lift to the top level. - The tube corner on the other side is a secret. - The big ramp at top right is a giant drop in point from top level. More 3D overview so you can understand my idea a bit more. Inside the map. - This is what it looks like when you stand in the "water". - There is that LOS breaker which I talked about in the first picture. - To the right you can see part of an opening. This is the same on the other side and they both lead to hallways which are in the next picture. Hallways. - Doorway on left comes from the previous picture. - In the ceiling you can just make out a hole. This is one of the drop in points from the top level - At the far end there is another doorway. Drop in shaft with half the top removed. Drop in shaft with rest of roof removed. - That little slot in between the two upside down ramps is the drop in shaft from top level. Well thats what I have designed so far. The only problem I have is designing the top floor. I have a ceiling for the bottom floor made of Block, Larges and these act as the floor for the top level. I just don't what to build in the top floor to continue on with the theme of "storm water". Ill update this thread as I go on.
Update: - Created a sweet main drop in shaft. Hope it turns out as good in forge. Ill post a picture later
This seems alot different than hte first 1 we played. This does look alot better and those drop in shafts for the humans gives th ezombie enough time to spawn without the humans spawn camping the zombie. I will be really happy if this turns out the wat it is supposed to.
This looks like a great map. Unique, and simple. I love it. Good luck with the rest of it. Btw, where do you download the pack for sketchup to get all the items?
Link for Skybox template Link for crypt/ground template Everything Source Thanks guys for the positive feedback. I really do hope this map turns out well.
I urge you not to place the shiled doors like that... It looks bad. maybe without the crazy blue sides, but then again theres the little bump thing
dude for the second floor you could try one of those sewer junctions you know the big rooms with 4 doors that catch like all the rain runoff etc. kinda like that part in l4d (the first not the 2nd)
Umm... do you have a picture? The only other idea I have at the moment is making it like a sort of control office.
I really hope this doesn't count as spam Hey, map looks great. It plays awesome as well. But I have one question: what program are you using to design this map? Please respond via pm. Also, mods, please don't give me an infraction (yes, I know this thread is old) thnx
CptSTFUs idea sounds pretty good of a drainage system, if its possible, the tube LOS breaker in the second can run through into the first floor, if possible, you could find a way to make like a chainmail fencing blocking the hole, then build a circular room around this with four pathways leading to each of the drop down points, i assume all the action takes place in the sublevel, so the upper level doesnt have to look amazing. It just needs to give the impression its sewer like. But yeah, directly above the drain, you could have more tube pieces coming out so its like a manhole, that'd be pretty cool.
To save on budget and what not, have you thought about geo-merging blocks into the ground? Just wondering...
Please explain a bit more on what you said. If you mean forging on main level sanbox the no because something really awesome about this map.
