Heroic DLC Rat's Cave

    Overview: Rat's Cave is a small map built for anywhere from 1-4 people. I had originally wanted to build a map that played very vertically to mix things up a bit more and spice up the gameplay. This is the map that came from that concept. I was also inclined to work on a map besides sandbox and foundry and so one thing led to another and i built this map on Rat's Nest. The upper area of the map is very dark, and reminded me of a cave-which is where the name came from.

    Description: Rat's Cave is a close quarters map with a slight twist. Many maps are built very short and ground based-I buit this map with vertical combat in mind. It works with every gametype except territories. The map itself was difficult to build with so few pieces to use. The few immovable pieces on the map i tried to savor as much as I could. The map is un-breakable. The standard Rat's Nest entrances are all blocked off. The two entrances in which I used teleporters and containers to block off are also unbreakable. The teleporters on each side send the spartans to the center bridge facing the direction in which one came from. That is the reason there are two teleporters in the center, not just one. The very top level starts above the glass operating room where the mancannons are located. The mancannons are just there for light because that entire area is pitch black. There are two br's up there along with two frag grenades. Also, the top level continues on along the double boxes and bridges. The upper area also contains two SMG's and stickys. The Rocket Launcher is at a middle area on the map laying across a bridge. It is accesible by both teams easily. The sniper rifle is located next to the overshield in a little more of a difficult location to reach. One must first drop down off of the upper level. The last power weapon is the shotgun which is resting against the container with two frags. The other weapons are two spikers and other br's scattered throughout the map. I hope that this makes more sense when you see the pictures. The upper level is accessable by two mancannons by the overshield. Also where the default ghost spawns is where there is a third mancannon that sends you right past the rocket launcher to the upper level. Also, there are two jumps that you can make to walk up to upper level. I apoligize if this is confusing at all. Just look at the pictures.

    Looks cool but the overshield are to close to sniper . But i like your bridge structure !

    First off, I want to say it looks beautiful. Even the door blockers look interesting. Along those lines, the man cannon lights work very well there.

    I have downloaded and will attempt to edit my post, but just judging from the pictures (never a good idea, but anyway) the gameplay looks quite interesting. Im curious to see how high the man cannons get you... Is it difficult to get on top? I worry that a sniper on the top floor could dominate the lower lifts. But gameplay aside, this is really unique.

    I think you mean 2-4 ? :p

    Anyway it looks sweet, and it is different to what we are use to on forgehub, which is always a good thing. It looks like you have done a good job of making a small area playable and I'm rather impressed. I'll dl it and give you more feedback once I've had a game or two :D

    Ok... first off this map is Amazingly forged... but isnt the map a little small for 3 power weapons (Rocket, Shoty and Sniper) along with a overshield o-o... and two brs side by side in the upper spawn area? Sorry if i sound critical i love the map and want you to forge it to its maximum potential. :)

    Man, i love it when people forge on maps other than sandbox or foundry. You just get a load of creativity as a result, and this map really shows what you can do with a few crates and a decent backdrop. One question: why would you have an overshield on top of a sniper? Also, fyi 1 player slayer isn't as fun as it sounds ;p

    Wow this looks good.
    I got the idea to make a map like this last night and now today this map shows up. I would probably never finish it anyways. Really a great map, but it seems like the rocket launcher might be a bit too powerful firing down on enemies. If you still have budget, you could use teleporters to hold the moveable crates in place for more platform space.

    it does look awesome, I'd agree with the power weapons sentiment though. I'd change the rockets to a brute shot and put the overshield near that. But its not my map, so I'll say kudos anyway
