    Halo: Reach won't feature dual-wielding

what do you guys think? I'm glad, all the weapons were peashooters and are for close range which there are dozens of better options for that. It helps with weapon balancing. In halo 1, you could actually kill someone with a plasma rifle.

I don't think I'll miss it an having 1 gun is far more realistic.

The closest I've ever come to duel wielding in real life is holding 2 paintball guns and even thats tricky. You need a very strong grip to keep them steady and there was no way I could lift them up to aim them accurately (well, as accurate as you can get with paintball guns!).

But in Halo 2 and 3 you can just lift 2 large guns and fire perfectly with both.

I guess it fits in with cannon, too. Nobody could fire 2 guns at once until Chief figured it out in late 2552!

So long as plasma slows you, I'm happy. That sort of thing made CQB a lot more interesting imo.

i dont think the source is well founded, cos in an interview one of the bungie developers speculated that it could be in its not that much of a big deal though, ODST was perfectly OK without it.
(hmmm fast running with turret in reach?)

I would jump around work screaming and yelling if they made the plasma rifle slow again. On second thought that might be bad for business. I loved it Combat Evolved.

Spartans and elites are very strong it wasn't far fetched at all for their perfect aim with with guns even 2. Plus it's halo. If you want authentic realism, play cod or gta 4

And yes they must make the PR slow down again. I remeber when I found out it halo pc kidding, I cranked it to max to make it a stun gun lol

To be frank I'm glad dual wielding is out, because it made all of the dual wield-able weapons way less powerful than they should have been, ie. Halo CE

Well really dual wielding was implemented because they A. made the pr's suck compared to H:CE. B. they did the same **** with the pistol, threw in the smg (for what reason idk) then later the spikers, oh and the maulers dual wield was supposed to be the same as a human shotgun. It was all just to try and balance the game, i say good riddence, sure it kinda makes the halo universe more unique but this isn't the MC here is the S III's so no dual wield just a good pr again good single needler good magnum and smg meh it can go.

Of all the realistic games you choose you chose GTA4? I could go off on a very long tangent about how that game lacks most aspects of realism, but I won't as it's not important to this thread.

I'm glad dualwielding is gone personally, and to the comment of sprinting with a turret, I heard that detachable turrets were out too, I don't remember where I heard it, but I do recall hearing that. (could just be a rumor though)

One of the X10 interview podcasts, they confirmed no dual wielding, as well as the appearance of elites in MM.

Detachable turrets are cool, they better not be out. How would that justify the missile pod? Or the fact that ODSTs can rip them off and Jorge can't?

Either way, I'm glad that dual wielding is out, and all of the weapons will fill their own niche in single wield.

I don't mind that there won't be duel wielding, I prefer the halo CE plasma rifle not being duel wielded and also the plasma pistol. I hope the plasma pistol will be like it was in halo 1.

Im gonna sound nerdy: Master cheif did not figure out how to dual weild. It came with his new armour in halo 2. Whereever his weapons are pointing, he sees that in his visr, in other words the armour and visr aims for him. If u have noticed when a spartan is aiming with a sniper or br, he is not looking through the scope, he sees what ever in the scope in his visr. the same thing happens when he is dualweilding. also spartans have joint-motors in his armour to make them stronger, they have no problem dual weilding...

If it's true, I'll start cutting myself >:O

Dual Wielding is epic if you know which weapons to pick.

Also, at one point in Halo 2 you see Master Chief carrying an SMG in one hand and a Rocket Launcher in the other.

Lol cod is no where near "authentic realism" maybe tom clancy games or battlefield games.

I wouldnt really mind not having duel weilding as i dont use it much anyway.

Who said halo was supposed to be realistic in the first place?
I'm not for duel wielding because I hate being killed by them when i'm trying to BR people. If you miss 1 shot they win, it's stupid.
I think the chief is fully capable of holding two weapons and firing them.

Dual wielding was kick-ass! And I'm sad it's gone, but I probably wont miss it too much...
I hardly noticed it was gone in ODST, but I loved the SMG PR combo, it kicked so much ass!

I think the biggest problem with dual wielding is that either grenades or melee (boxer) must be sacraficed to dual wield. Pistols and machine pistols, even some smgs can be fired with one hand, and usually are in combat situations. Using two would simply reduce accuracy as it does in CoD. Most pistols and SMGs are actually designed to be quite light and balanced in one hand unlike paintball guns.
The most likely reason for removing dual wielding is to allow scopes on the SMG and pistol
