    Sandstorm v2

    YouTube- Sandstorm - A Halo 3 Map
    Please note the following:
This video is of the First version of the map
The hills are now much bigger than they are in the video.
And yes, i realize i spelled Metallica wrong.

    The Map:
Sandstorm is a map inspired by de_dust2 from the Counter-Strike series. These maps have many relations in terms of spawns, locations and flanking points. The map is designed with a main center part, or "Middle," with two sites beside it, both site A and site B. These sites, or "bomb sites" as called in Counter-Strike are referred to as Blue and Purple in this map, and are also very important parts of the map, as you can use them to flank the enemy team.

This map varies from mid-range to close-range combat. The map presents you with an environment that keeps you on your toes, as you may encounter an enemy around every corner, weather they be right in front of you, or on the other side of the map.

Sandstorm also has a small tunnel system that connects Gold to purple. The middle section of the map also has an entrance point to the tunnel.

    Gameplay:
This map was GOING to support Slayer, Oddball, King of the Hill and Capture the flag, but after numerous hours of testing it has been found that Capture the Flag and Oddball was too hard to score in. So this map now supports Slayer and King of the Hill for 2-4 players.

Because of the size of this map, a lot of close range weapons were needed. The CQB weapons chosen were placed around the map so you don't spawn away from a new gun. The weapons on this map are almost perfectly balanced, meaning a fair game for everyone.

The rockets are located in the middle of the map to give players an object to rush to at the beginning of the game.

    v2 Changes:
Areas were developed and given names for easier call outs.
AR was removed because most AR ammo would be picked up from dead enemies.

    Perfect

Great work man, your first version was really good but you fixed the minor issues it had and produced a map that should be considered a benchmark to simple design and great gameplay. The only thing I would have done differently is update your first thread instead of creating a new one and bumping others off the front page- Know what I mean?

Hey this looks like a great map. I would certainly check it out. Nice use of Metal Militia, Metallica doesn't get enough credit anymore, and it seems that anytime Metallica is on a video, it matches the video somehow...weird. It looks like a fun map to play on, I can never find stuff like this anymore.
