I found the need to replace my wallpaper and wanted to show you guys what i made for it. clicky This is also my first thing ive put on my new deviantart account. CnC?
Ehhh, the render really clashes with the background, and the text seems a bit blurry... And IMO the "rain" splatters on the camera just kind of distract from it. Not too horrible though.
hmm... it looks like i didnt get the render tinted to the right color, i originally intended on his coloring being more muted... think that'd look better? I still think it looks good but with the amount of color he has he ends up popping out more than i like.
Well, it's not so much the colouring, in my opinion, it's just the fact that you have the background, and he's there, like he's just sitting there. Try to add more lighting effects. Also, with blurring, make sure you keep them relative to each other, if you have his shotgun blurred out, the inner porions of his body shouldn't be also.
all of him except his front leg should be blurred so it looks more like hes stepping forward out of the darkness/cloudy background so the focus of the picture should be, if i did it right, his stepping leg.
you shouldnt blur half a render though. he should be comply focused like he would be in real life if you were to focus your eyes on him. also."hes the focal" as in hes what your focused on.
let me ask you this, if youre in the rain and rain has gotten onto your camera lense, does it stay perfectly clear? The answer is no, for almost any camera i know of. His front leg is the closest thing to you, therefor it becomes the focal point I cant make it clearer than that Also, you expect me to embedd a picture as big as you screen in my post? for one it would just get downsized, and two, if i did manage to get it to stay big it would take forever to scoll down for some people. I was being decent by not embedding it. Lastly, this is definitely not even one of my first projects, if im not mistaken ive been posting in GnA for a bit now, I cant say the same for you. With that said I am going to take your advice with very little regard because of your vulgar langauge, next time dont use that kind of language right off the bat, I did nothing to anger you so there is no need to speak like that to me. PS. learn some grammar, or at least to use the right words where they belong.
This must be a reply to a post that was removed, regardless ... I think one of my biggest issues with it is the fact that the rain is 95% placed behind him with the other 5% being the splatters on the camera itself. (which also, IMO, you should try to make more convincing) I knew there was something else I was missing when I replied to this the other night, hope this helps a bit.
I don't think the rain background really fits well in my opinion for Halo. (at least the way it is presented)
The background is lo-res and so are most parts of the character. Doesn't look that good. Put it with a background that seems to fit the theme of Halo.
