Axscension "Ascend to Heaven or dive to Hell." 2-6 players This is my first try at a good halo 3 foundry map. Please don't be too rough, but please leave advice and comments. The idea of this map was to create a stairway map that involved random teleports. I think I pretty much got the idea down. On the first floor of the map, there is a receiver teleporter, this is the general way back for entering any sender teleporter. Hell's Hallway: Energy Sword x1 / 120secs Base A: Gravity Hammer x1 / 120secs Brute Sticks x2 / 10 secs Base B: Gravity Hammer x1 / 120secs Brute Sticks x2 / 10 secs First Floor: Shotgun x1 / 60secs Sniper Rifle x1 / 60secs Battle Rifle x1 / 30secs Carbine x1 / 30secs Frags x2 / 10secs Plasma g. x2 / 10secs Second Floor: Assault Rifle x2 / 30secs Bubble Shield x1 / 60secs Third Floor: Battle Rifle x1 / 30secs Carbine x1 / 30secs Power Drain x1 / 60secs Frags x2 / 10secs Plasma g. x2 / 10secs Fourth Floor: Brute Spikers x2 / 30secs Plasma Rifle x2 / 30secs Things to Know: The mancannon on the fourth floor does not spawn for 90 seconds. In Hell's Hallway, shoot the propane tank. Camping isnt fun for anyone. There is no way out of this map. Can only be played on Slayer Variants. Base A and Base B are symmetrical. No advantages for either side. The Fourth floor teleporter can go two ways to prevent spawn/teleporter kills. Screenies: This is Base A/B. End of Base A/B. Where the brute gr. and hammers are. Nice, the only problem I have is that it's random my preference would be if like set to go one level up or down or from bottom to top. Other than that looks solid. Especially for a beginner.
Looks good for a first map on Foundry , the only thing that would make this better would be if you used a slightly more weapons at both bases like BR's or AR's and such depending on what you spawn with. also , it wouldnt hurt to try and set it up so you could play with all game variants
Not a very big fan of randomness. I personally wouldnt play on it just because you would probably get the feeling of being lost all the time on the map. Ill DL and check it out though and see if I change my views on it.
Took a look at it, and didn't expect it to be that small. It's basically a 1 vs 1 map. Not that anything is wrong with that, I just didn't see it coming. Played a quick game with my friend on it. I took sword and basically dominated the whole map. I would advise changing it to a shotgun. Some Fushion Coils at the stairways would be a nice offense touch. I would've liked to see at least 1 more BR though. Overall it was great 1st attempt at a Foundry map. Kudos.
Thanks everyone for the advise. Ill change the sword to a shotgun and remove the shotgun from the first floor. I will also add more BRs. Did anyone think the random teleporters were bad?
Looks like quite nice idea with the stairs going up the tower however things like the sword behind the fusion coils seem like something a noob map maker would do.
ok, now i like the look of this map, the only things that i could see going wrong is: the grav hammer behind the shield door, now i know you mentioned camping in your OP but it wasn't very explanatory (?) i think it would be easy to camp this spot with the hammer even if the teleports are random. the second thing isn't so much a problem as my opinion, it's the fusion coils infront of the sword spawn, there is an unnecessary amount IMO. you could tone it down abit, i understand you wanted to make it a risk to get, but it could cause slight lag during gameplay. otherwise this map looks fine and great first post!
