So yeah, I know this works for PS3 but I'm wandering if it does so for Xbox. Player X has for example Trials HD and Castle Crashers bought onto his gamertag, could he supposedly recover his account on Players Y's Xbox and download CC/Trials there. After he has downloaded it, will Player Y's own gamertag be able to play it fully without actually buying it ect. Not saying I want to do this or anything... Hope you understand
Yes and no. First of all, this is Illegal. So, I'm not too sure If I should explain. Spoiler So it will work, yes. But ONLY if you play with that friend. The game's data is copied fully over, and if you go into that game and play through it on his account, it will create an "impression" in your Xbox. The impression tells the Xbox you have it, but you don't have the license for it. Now, to show the flaw behind your theory, you don't buy the game off the marketplace. You download a LICENSE to use that game for your profile. That License is non-transferable, unless you get Microsoft to. Now the way this works is that when you're playing that game with the friend that got you the license, your Xbox is fooled into believing you actually have it, when you actually don't. Though with that said, if you do that, you are essentially stealing from Microsoft and the developer/publisher. Don't do it.
Why would you ask if you didn't want to do this? I do believe this works. When I got my RRoD I just went out and bought another Xbox, I could re-download everything that I bought before, including Map packs, Arcade Games, etc. So in my book, this should work.
