For those of you that don't know, this is Archatraz. The map is now almost 100% done, and the only things being tweaked are the spawns. Expect a release VERY soon, and you can send me a message over XBL if you want to test sometime, although I don't know if I'll get around to inviting you. :/
I plan to make the video tonight Rorak, I will need a Game Play video because my connection fails though. Just play it with max players on a hectic game type for it. On the map, I loved jumping around on it. The best part to me was the Sentinal Beam and its spawn area.
You can count me their Kuroda, i love this map. And after flying around it in forge i understand it better now haha.
This looks pretty good from this picture. I like crypt maps and there should be more of them. You look like you can have some pretty cool creative things in your maps. I like that
Might I suggest a testing session through the Testers Guild, we'd be happy to give you some feedback as well as help with the overall gameplay. And from the teaser I'd say this map looks quite magnificent, I'm looking forward to the final map's release. Though I don't get the Alcatraz reference (if it is even an Alcatraz reference). Is it on an island type thing, or does it have a prisony feel, or non of the above?
Alright, hopefully I'll get a gameplay video pretty soon. Also, is there any way that you can mash a bunch of clips together to make a montage of sorts? Yeah, it's actually got a really simple shape when you look at it in forge, doesn't it? I didn't really have a plan when I started the map, I just tried to make a multi-leveled, large, aesthetically pleasing, FFA map. And I think I succeeded. You and rifte were the only ones to disagree with the firebombs, but I trust your judgement. I'll be reducing it to only 2 firebombs on the map, instead of 4. I think I'll send it through the guild once, just to get some final advice. And the name is a funny story, actually. The map is inspired by Prismer, which is inspired by Prisoner, and Alcatraz is a prison. I didn't want to name it simply Alcatraz, so I went with Archatraz. I really like it.
Yeah the only thing i would have interjected is perhaps making the second story in the back right, you know the other side of the bridge, making another drop down that way if you go up the lift (like me) you don't get stuck. It also makes the hill location below it less camp-able.
Yeah, I know what you mean. Don't forget though, not everything is set in stone yet. The structure is 100% done, but the hill placements, spawns, weapons, etc. are not. When I get some more testing, I'll see what I can do. I might just completely eliminate that top hill.
