Wow, nice looking map. The aesthetics look excellent. As organite said the nature vs industrial really does make this map unique. I wont have time to test but this maps seems more suitable for FFA. Anyway, great work. 8/10.

edit: Lolwut?! This post appears at the start of the thread for me!

Wow you did a great job with this map. The bridge you made with scaffold looks so dope over top of the river. Even the waterfall looks great, but I think CaptainSTFU still holds the title for best waterfall in his map Descended Vale http://www.forgehub.com/forum/competitive-maps/93981-descended-vale.html
Im gonna download it cuz im sure youve missed a lot of details with your limited selection of screenshots

    ???
For some reason my previous post disappeared.
Anyway, adding to what I said earlier originality definitely made this map. It is aesthetically amazing, however, I do have a few recommendations:
-pin the radio antennas with weapon holders; people were getting in weird places by knocking them over.
-the drop into the river was an inconvenience. Everyone wanted that smoothed out.
-the amount of z-fighting from the tin cups could cause a seizure. I honestly don't know how to fix that other than adjusting the elevation and making it contoured instead of flat.
-the inside of the industrial side often felt empty like something could have been added there.

I realize that you only have 2 objects left to work with as is, and most of these CAN be overlooked, but the tin cups must be fixed if anything.
With what I addressed, I give The Wild a solid 7.8/10; this due mostly on the basis of originality and well executed aesthetics.
    Overall good job =)

    whoa... why is this here?

    The Wild

MLG The Wild is a small 2v2 map made by E iNGLouRIouS 3 and redshadow11492. The idea of the map was to incorporate a mix of aesthetics and gameplay with a more natural style. The map takes place in the crypt, but only just more than half of the floor space is used, with the rest walled off. This map used a canvas with everything deleted except for the starting points and respawn areas of Sandbox, and was not budget-glitched or OLN stacked in any way.

    Epic Intro:
The Wild is the latest battlefront in the struggle between man and nature, and between peoples themselves. An industrial outpost opposes a wood base across a river run red with death. A cliff overlooks the canyon, in which people of the forest fight either from a treetop canopy or the shelter of the woods against the advanced industrial society. Both sides must fight for high ground, and use the cover that exists.

    Gameplay:
To have an asymmetrical map for team play, some things needed to be taken into account. First of all, the rocket launcher is equidistant from both starting spawns. Also, the idea was to provide equal cover, which was almost achieved with the use of trees on one side, and mounted radio antennae and a barricade on the other side. The cliff is accessible by both sides, either from the treetop canopy or a sloping ramp. The one area that does not balance well is that the industrial base is much larger than the wooden base, but this balances out the inequality of better cover in the forest. Both sides have a spawning cave, and all spawns are neutral, so sides in a game will flip frequently.

    Gametypes Supported:
The map supports Slayer, King of the Hill, Oddball, and a very awkward Capture the Flag (not recommended.) The map is probably best with BR starts, MLG settings, but AR starts are fine.

    List of Features:
There is a straight-edge style base which is on the industrial side.
There is a waterfall which falls into a river. Both mysteriously repel fire.
A cliff on the far side, which is equally accessible by both sides ramps down into the industrial base.
A forest, made of grass and stone trees, and stone branches.
A wooden base is at the far side of the forest, and is built out of the mountain/wall.
A wooden bridge spans the river, and can either be walked over, or jumped on to from both the cliff and the gutter.
    There are small respawn caves.
Half of the crypt is walled off with very high walls to make a canyon.

    Weapons:
    Rocket Launcher.......x1....180 sec......1 extra clip
    Mauler......................x1.....150 sec......1 extra clip
    Battle Rifle...............x2.....30 sec........2 extra clips
    Carbine....................x2......30 sec.......2 extra clips
    Plasma Grenades.....x4.....10 sec

from lookin at the pics, the aesthetics look great on the map, and it looks like it can play decently too, but i'll dl and check it out.

it would be cool to turn that to primarily mlg, cause it definitely has potential, but i cant really give good suggestions.

    Oh wow.
    This is definitely original.
The aesthetics are great and I really like the nature vs. industrial concept in the map.
I can't speak much for gameplay so I'm going to download this and update this at some point.

Thank you for the full review. Most people have not even taken the time to DL, so I appreciate it, and I thank you for all of your thoughtful points. Let me explain what I can:
The radio antennae falling I think adds something to gameplay, and I believe the walls are high enough to allow for it :). As for the river, I originally had the edge to the outside, but did not have the pieces I wanted to have to make the other bank, so it was a cost decision which is annoying. The Z-fighting I have heard is terrible, so I must have a weird TV, but I plan to fix that soon. The inside of the industrial base is not meant to be camped in or stayed in for long periods...

I plan to only fix the grass, if only to save time for my next idea. I appreciate the originality comments of all. I try to think of many ideas and pick the best one to make, so I am glad it was noticed. The idea was to make it an aesthetic map, and my favorite part was being able to start each side with a view of the waterfall, because I was afraid that the timing to the rockets would not work out.

The map is very wild-like(duh). Any way I really like how you incorporated a water fall and a jungle theme with a nicely made wooden bridge to wrap it all up together. If you could somehow add an underground tunnel system that would amplify your map.

I have heard multiple complaints about the bump when trying to walk out of the river. I talked it over with my forging partner redshadow11492, and he said "If they don't like walking in the river, that's why we built a bridge. They can just walk over it or maybe jump." And I laughed. I do plan to fix the grass though. I'll let you know when it is edited...

Wow. My only complaint is you can see the "outer rim" of each tin cup. Besides that, worth a download for being one of the best nature aesthetic maps I've ever seen!
