Sooo. I got hacked. I decided I wanted to play mw2, and it said my acc was recovered, then I got suspicious. So I recovered it and it said that the email was no longer associated with that gamertag. I have searched xbox.com for help, but haven't found anything. If you guys have experienced this and got through it, or know anyway I could get it back, please post below. tl;dr: hacked and need help.
If you haven't called up 18004MYXBOX, do so immediately. They'll be able to deactivate your account and keep them from charging money on your account, and potentially catch the guy, who will probably get jail time if they do.
Yes, toll free. They'll try to get your account back but the chances are they'll deactivate the old one and give you a year card and whatever points were on it, that kind of thing. Yes, you'll have to talk to people, likely for at least an hour.
If they charged money to your account, the police will ask you if you'd like to press charges or not. If they file it as fraud, then you can chose not to press charges (or you could). Unless they file it as identity theft, then it's an automatic felony and they'd charge him for it then. You might have to just talk to the cops about it, they'd handle the rest.

Just call them. Have all info necessary that's related to your account. And yeah, you'll be on hold for a while....
Example: old email/pass? any other so I could remember? Also, i cant call until tonight/tomorrow. Does the amount of time after the changes are made, make a difference?
You want to call ASAP so they can have a better chance at catching the guy or generally helping. You want all info you have - whatever you had set as address, emails, passwords, secret questions, everything. They need to make sure it's not another attempt to hack...because that's how 'hacking' is done...just calling up over and over and managing to get a little info bit after bit.
I could still sign into hotmail. As soon as i did, I changed my password, and changed location to my current. But when I went to, There was an adress from my province, but a city i have never heard about. Also, Im calling xbl support tomorrow afternoon. im going to right down all the info i could get off of my windows live acc.
