After a few months of hiatus from forging racetracks, I'm back to deliver another racetrack. It's built on the main tier of Sandbox and incorporates the dunes into the track. I have also set this track up to play default Battle Tracks, as there are weapons and equipment placed throughout the track. ShaddoBlade for putting mancannons at the finish and other things.
So I haven't actually gotten a game in on here, but I definetely drove around it for about 15 minutes when you sent me the XBL message. It's amazingly smooth and I really love the way it flows. Anyone that's into racetrack maps, definetely check this out. Oh, and that is a damn nice looking photo-reel-thingy.
I love this map, obviously, or I wouldn't have helped you with "other things" lol. Anywho, incorporating terrain into a sky track is one idea I actually thought about doing myself with the introduction of ghost merging, but you did a better job than I could have. The track is really smooth, and the transitions from track to terrain are amazing. The track is designed perfectly for Battltracks, especially Battle Snipes. I had a blast playing on it and thoroughly enjoyed just riding around for nearly an hour. It is truly an inspiring map.
This kinda reminds me of a map that I made a little while back called "Yotomashu" therefore I really enjoy this type of racetrack because I made a track similar to this.
That was thanks to MultiLockOn. Thanks for all of that. I said "other things" because I wanted to keep the post pretty. Most of the changes you made are on the map, just not reflected by the pictures.
Nice job, Im not really sure if you were trying to get the smooth spots in the sand on your trap but i think it would be cool if you got some of the jumps in the sand area in there. Overall 5/5. Download: Definate
Damn Ace, awesome map post, hook me up with the guy who did it for ya' Naw, see the thing is, I don't even like racetracks, and I enjoy driving through this one...backwards and forwards. Seriously like, I recommend this bad boy. Once again, awesome map post man.
First of all this post looks great and very professional. Okay now to the map - and it is incredible. Definitely my favorite mid-tier track to date considering the beautifully smooth turns and stone to dune transtitions. Battle snipes was actually enjoyable to play too. It's always nice to see such refreshing tracks like this, and you are so well at creating them. It also doesn't hurt when you show my wonderful driving skills in the action shots! Really nice work Ace.
This map is very good from my point of view, may be you could add a game play video to show how well it plays, the only problem i can see if some one parked a mongoose neer the end and some one ramped off of it to cheat, other wise A+
Wow, absolutely amazing. The way that the dunes are incorporated into the rest of the track is quite unique. There are lots of tracks that do that, but they aren't made well, this one IS! Turns are smooth, no bumps, no edges sticking out, need I say more? Great job. 5/5
This was so much fun to play on... Incredibly smooth, and the transitions were beautiful. The transition that was not amazingly smooth was the one from ground to wood, but it still works just fine. Amazing job, ace.
I must say I really liked it. The little aesthetic touches and how smooth the map was made it incredible. Didn't try it yet for bt but I'm sure it will be great. There are just a couple little flaws that I saw and it was your two transitions which was the first one to the double wall turn and the one after the block huge hill. They were a little rough. I also thought the map could have been a bit longer. You should start using the stacked canvas, it will help out a lot. Other than that, the track was wonderful. Great Job!
x DREAM 76 x Pro RaceTrack Review: Great job Ace. I really like this track. I played it with a big party last night and everyone had a blast. Everything was butter smooth and the lines of sight were perfect. I really like how the sky sections merged so perfectly with the dunes. I really like these kind of ground floor tracks. The last turn right before the goal was very fun. The goal point was perfect. I am not even sure how you managed to make the goal anti cheat and not propell you too much. The balance felt just right. The spawn was a nice size and I like the red light there. This is one of my favorite new BT tracks. We are going to be holding a BT tournament soon and I want to add this to the list of tracks. I really enjoyed the burried map idea. The idea that the wind has uncovered an ancient track from the dunes. Very creative and it actaully looked like the track has been unearthed from the ground. I think you are on your way to Premium. Not only do you make great tracks but you make great competitive maps as well. Pros: - Nice track length and lines of sight. - Very cretive theme and aesthetics. - Set up perfectly for all racing game variatns. - Great weapon placement. - Nice interlocking. Cons: - Could use a bit more aesthetics. - Did you use an OLN canvas? - No portals or killball at base of map. (Hard to drive back on track if you fall off). Final Score: 4.6/5
Thanks for the review Dream! I did use an OLN canvas, but I never use the OLN immovable objects. I used all OLN weapons, objectives, and spawns though. I just hit the budget limit, or close to it at least. BTW, thread updated with new BT variants.
Oh ok. Have you ever considered money glitching some items. A map does not have to have extra budget to be good, however it will give you access to much more items overall. I always start with just a regular OLN canvas and then I money glitch some items near the end. It's the way I have been forging since day one. Again, it's not that important. The map was very fun and I would like to get a game going again some time. Edit: I think you should add a killball right in the center of the bottom. That way if you fall off you could have the option to drive into it. It would probably be faster than having to find that one narrow opening in the dunes. Or add a few portals.
