How do you colour coordinate the boxes on avalanche? When you get the colour you want you save and quit while holding it don't you? It seems to only work occasionally. What is the actual method? I think I'm doing it wrong.

When you load it up, that is the color you get, not the one you are holding.

Okay, so lets say you've ghost merged your box. it doesn't matter what color that box is at the moment. You need to save, quit, and start a new game and then that color is the color it will stay unless you pick the box up again.

My only dilemma is how do you color coordinate something that's been merged with map geometry without it spazing out of its original space?

Try doing everything like it said, completely locking it down with teleporters (probably from both the inside and outside of the map). Then quickly grab it and let go and save it. Make sure to save it as a different file, just in case we're wrong I'd hate to mess up your merge completely.

thanks guys, I suppose if I don't make too many complicated merges I should be all set in that sense.

You don't even need to use the method by Devinish with ghost merging now. Just save after every merge, quit, start a new game, and pray that you got the color you want.

That's all there is to it.

If it's a really deep merge, I'd just delete it and ghost merge it again.

Yeah, I think it's easier to just redo the merge than try to do the braces and such since ghost merging makes it easier to do the merge. Like they all said, whatever the box color is after you save, quit, and start the game again is what color it will stay. But it seems to always pick the colors that you don't want. =/
