So i might be getting a new computer, what should i look for? i want: Good price Abilty to run some computer games Has to be able to run G-Mod and HL2 Windows 7 (NOT VISTA) laptop trackpad mouse, the little stub thingy 120+GB harddrive So no alienware computers, weight i dont really care ALSO, i have Adobe flash cs3 and photoshop cs3 on this computer, how could i copy those onto there, or is there a way to copy everything off this computer to that one?
Can't help you mate, I use Macs so I wouldn't consider myself an expert on what PC to buy. But you could always get a Mac and run Windows in boot camp.
For transferring you can either get an external hard drive if you plan on transferring a lot of content, or you can buy a large flash drive.
Either will work the same as long as you have enough memory for what you want with whatever one you decide to get.
HP e9270. Its only about $1000 and trust me, it kicks ass for the price. 1 TB Hard Drive Blu-Ray and Lightscribe 8GB RAM 8 Core 2.6 GHz Processor (The intel i7) Windows 7 1 GB Reserved Video Memory It is amazing (Photoshop elements installed in under 5 minutes and opens in under 5 seconds) As for your CS3 programs, I think you get like 3 or 4 licenses per key... otherwise try contacting Adobe.
I have an Imac, I used to run xp on it, but deleted it because I can't stand windows. It ran great though. I personally loooooooove the mac system and if you're into anything with photoshop, flash, etc, mac is the way to go definitely. and You could always get crossover games if you didn't want to install windows, or just install windows, either way you can play windows games.
You can customize a Dell on their site (dell.com) to fill your criteria. It's not great, but it will be more than enough to do what you want. As for the programs, deauthorize them and reinstall on your new computer with the discs.
I made that mistake. Do not customize on Dell. If you go big (800-1000) I can build you a future proof computer. If you are wanting 400 - 799 go to bestbuy. Those are the two best options.
I'm also looking for a computer. This computer seems amazing Stouf, but it's $1129.99, and without a screen. The reasonable screen is $249.99. Making the whole package $1380.00. It would take a while for me to come up with that, but still. As Stouf said, could you lead me in the direction of a future proof computer. What I'm really looking for is Windows 7, good gaming quality, good amount of ram, desktop/laptop doesn't matter, nice amount of memory.
For $1,009 the following PC will do anything you ask - anything. Crysis, after-effects...on second thought it will run Crysis and the entire CS4 master collection at the same time. Included in the price is the OEM (you will need this unless you keep your hdd), Monitor, speakers, psu, cd drive, and case. If you don't want these included and want to use the ones you have (you'll need a psu higher than 550 watt) already then the price stands at $655. 21.5 inch iMac (1080p) Intel Core 2 Duo 3.06 GHz 4GB RAM 500 GB 8x double layer SuperDrive (CD/DVD RW) NVIDIA GeForce 9400M I think that's worth it.
THAT is 1200? Funny.... The price mostly depends on where you buy it. At the local Fry's we got it for 1050 with a packaged 23" monitor
