Temple of Crete is a maze map. I got tired of the typical names of maze maps like Maze, Labyrinth, Minotaur, and so on, so I tried to come up with something better or at least different.

So the Temple of Crete was at Knossos in Crete, but I like most people don't know how to pronounce Knossos and it just sounds funny, so I called it Temple of Crete.

The Temple of Crete was confusing with tons of hallways, chambers, and hidden passages, and is said to be where the word or idea of labyrinth comes from. The infamous Minotaur was also said to be kept in the temple of Knossos somewhere as well, and that prisoners that tried to escape eventually got completely lost, and were eventually found by the Minotaur. Once they met the Minotaur all kinds of bad things happened. (They were chop-suey, had a horn up their behind, were forced to eat some tofu-surprise because thats all the Minotaur had to eat which is why he would eat anything he saw, and had to suffer through a John Travolta movie).

    Weapons list:

    Flamethrower x1

    Fuel Rod Cannon x1

    Mauler x1

    Bruteshot x2

    Shotgun x3

I tend to prefer to go light on weapons on my maps, but even for me this weapons list feels light. The reason is I hit the object number limit, and had to cut out a few weapons. However, after having to remove assault gametype capabilities it might be possible to add a few more weapons back in.

All the weapons act like power weapons on the map, but weapons are either overpowered on this map or they're useless. I originally had a Gravity hammer and at least one sword on the map, but they were insane powerful so I removed them and replaced them with the Mauler and the Fuel Rod Cannon, which is also very very powerful on this map. So if you change the weapons or add any, I don't suggest adding swords, rockets, or gravity hammers. They're instant kill weapons pretty much on this. Also any dual weapons are useless, as well as the battle rifle, carbine, and assault rifle. I originally had some spikers on the map, but they were useless so I replaced them with the flamethrower.

Grenades are extremely powerful so I took out the grenades I had on the map originally because starting with a couple of frags is plenty on this map in my opinion.

Now.... since this is a maze map, pictures well don't even say as much as words. But I still took a few for you guys anyway because I know you would still demand pictures even though you're basically looking at walls lol.

With all the commotion in the Temple of Crete, the "Monitaur" snuck out for awhile! Ahahahahahaha, hahaha.... ha. I crack myself up with my pathetic sense of humor. So anyway, yeah the Temple of Crete is up in the sky bubblay.

The flamethower's location. Now you know EXACTLY where to get it. Its at that one turn. The dark, brown, scary turn.

The red team base, they love them some gold!!!!

If you find the Toucan let me know. I swear its in there somewhere, just keep looking. Its hidden really, really, really, really good. I can't even find it now. In fact I don't remember where I told him to stay at now while I was making the map. Actually he may have never actually existed, a part of my mind might have just not found its way out of the Temple of Crete yet..... so you will just have to spend months running around my maze looking for my toucan.

I'm sure you guys were waiting for the layout picture with an overhead view of the path through the maze but......

    HA! Yeah right!

If you want to cheat like that to see how to go through the maze you're going to have to at least go to the trouble of deleting the roof pieces in forge lol! That will ruin all the fun if you see the pathways lol.

But seriously it won't help you to find your way through it. If anyone learns their way through I will be very impressed because I think it must be nearly impossible to learn for just playing it if you didn't make it and go through it like 543084578347128 times like me lol. I mean I probably didn't learn my way through until like after I don't 400 times going through maybe?!

So if you want to get lost in some intense infection or flag grabbing warfare, download Temple of Crete now!!!!

Oh yeah, I almost forget two important things I wanted to mention.

    1. I'm very proud that I came close to achieving my goal of making this map playable for ALL gametypes DESPITE having hit the limit of the number of objects you can have on a map. Temple of Crete does not support any Assault gametypes, but DOES support all others to my knowledge. I didn't find any other types that didn't work while I tested gametypes.

    2. Temple of Crete was done with ZERO ghost merging. Yeah that makes it very crude in some places, but I didn't know about it back when I made this map a long time ago. On the bright side if ghost merging causes lag like some people claim thats nothing to worry about on Temple of Crete.

Eventually one day I will remake this in the crypt. The reason I made it in the sky bubblay is because I originally thought it would be awesome to include pits in the maze, but the way I did the floor with double blocks made that impossible to do without ruining the asthetic appearance of the maze. Basically adding in pits in the few places its even possible allows players to see other pathways and to see that they're at the edge of the maze, and I don't want players seeing either of those.

Another reason I wish I had done this in the crypt is so that the hallways could be wider. The hall before the red base is the only one that has enough width to make me satisfied really. The other ones are very cramped feeling to me.

Did you read my post? If you didn't I understand, its a lot to read.

Anyway please understand its a maze, so there's nothing to see from pictures. 99% of them would like exactly like the one with the flamethrower. The red base and the blue base are the only two places in the entire maze that would look different in the pictures. I put one of the red base, and the blue base is just a dead end with blue lights at the end basically. Its not much to see unlike the red base.

Normally I show an overhead shot of maps but that just doesn't make sense for a maze map.

i like the idea of being able to play everything, but in a maze, king of the hill would be insanely had to find (if the maze is as good as you say) and oddball, once someone stumbled upon it, i doubt many would find them, unless its not as difficult as you say... it does look interesting though

Its difficult to KNOW your way around, but since its not that big, you will GET around in a reasonable amount of time.

I also placed one of the hills at the half way point in the quickest route between the two teams so hopefully that helps to balance it, but I don't think there would be serious problems anyway.

Basically since the maze is not huge, but like a medium size map, someone will stumble over everything, and you will be in constant fighting like a normal map. I think you run into people to fight on this map about as often as a normal type of map.

And also, the maze's nature of not being able to find the flag, hill, territory, or whatever, is pretty funny I think lol. It brings an interesting new element into games, but its not a problem because its even.

The only gametype I could see being problematic in a maze is oddball, since theoretically you could backtrack to your team's base with the ball. But I haven't seen it happen, or attempted, and if someone can figure out how to backtrack they deserve the advantage for being able to do that lol!
