Sandbox 501st Army Base

    Description:

    So a little while ago I decided to go back and improve some of my older maps that I made early in my forging career. The one I came upon was 501st Base. I improved, edited, revamped, and ghost merged it until I could do no more, and then renamed it the 501st Army Base. Without further adieu-

    One day, fireskull decided to go on a tour of his new map.

    He decided to start with the Covenant base.

    After thoroughly examining the covenant outpost, fireskull proceeded to the main military base.

    Upon entering into the mess hall, he saw that there were three doors out of the room. He chose the one to the right. There was a fork with two different directions.

    To the right was a vehicle garage.

    To the left was an open meeting room with stairs leading up to an overview of the mess hall and a grav lift up.

    Going up the grav lift he came to a small bunker on top of the base with a lookout he could see through. He could even see the Covenant base from there!

    Going down the stairs, he came to another bunker, this one connected to 2 other passages. It also had an outlook view.

    He picks the one to his right, and walks down to find a staircase and grav lift.

    He heads down and out into the main room, going through the passage to his right to come into an armory. After examining the weapons he heads on and is shot up by a mancannon. After following the passage he is shot into he finds that he is back to the central bunker!

    This base is made for large scale Team Slayer matches. I have found that even small numbers can have a lot of fun though :rogue:

    Addressing the problems.

    Aesthetics

    The base was very large, and I couldn't put a roof on all of it, instead there are shield doors to protect from Wraiths shooting straight into the base. They can go behind the base and try, but I've found they are very quickly shot down.

    Overall on some parts the walls/roofs aren't very well done, and while it doesn't affect gameplay in the least it does leave aesthetic holes in the map.

    Weapons

    I'm going to be frank. The weapons to vehicle ratio between both teams is even. Through many games of testing it took me forever, but I was finally able to find a good balance between without weighting one team over the other.

    This WILL BE one of the funnest maps you have ever played on. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for Clan Gamenights!

    Please for the love of god people, don't be asses.

    Yes this map sucks balance wise, but it is fun to screw around on for some people.

    Okay have you even played it yet? I wasn't kidding when I said it was balanced, almost every game I played on it ended with a close score. That's 8v8 with evenly balanced skillsets (At least as much as you can testing) consistantly.
