Reusable Catapult One end of the radio antenna is being pushed down by about 8 man cannons but is also held up by a custom power-up. One player stands on the opposite end while another picks up the custom power-up and launches the player standing on the antenna. This is where you will land, DISTANCE!!!
Its quite simple and easy to understand. I like your diagram. Does the person who activates the switch ever get killed by the antenna crushing them? I'll download when you link it up because it looks like a few good laughs
Well I updated it shortly after the pictures so theres actually a wall between the player activating the catapult and the actual antenna and the power-up is merged into it. And there are many laughs to be had with this map. When we were testing it we launches literally every movable object possible (some more effectively than others)
This seems very useful in a map that I have been thinking about for some time. Is it okay if I incorporate it into into my map?
Very simple and creative, nice switch. The possibilities for this are endless, now that I think of it. Perhaps you can invent a mini game out of this?
Yes it is because the custom power-up respawns before the antenna respawn after like 20 seconds so when the antenna spawns again it's already being held up and is ready to launch again.
This is pretty creative and simple enough where anyone could incorporate it into there maps. This idea has quite a bit of potential whether you are using objects or people. The distance is even more incredible. Nice work putting this together.
bad Dthen, be kind hes new and its looks awsome, i dont think ive seen anything like this before i wonder why it took so long to get out there
Epic lol, I love seeing the creativity of relatively new members, and I could see a minigame out of this. Something with flying objects or zombies, or maybe even a castle siege. One catapult isn't going to capture tons of downloads (I'll still DL it, because it's awesome!), and I bet if you incorporated more, it would be a sure download. Like I said before, maybe an aesthetic castle siege. Also, there's no download link. You should put one in, before the moderators catch you!
He's not really new, he's been on H3 Artificer for a long time. Thing is, the mechanism is resetting by respawning, which isn't really reusable under these circumstances.
I like this, dude. I like how it is extremely small, simple and effective. I only have a few suggestions for you. *The catapult appears to be set in the middle of the map. I would move it back so that you can get more distance. *If you can, set it up in the skybubble. You would probably get more distance, but that might be the only advantage. Other than producing lulz, of course. *Maybe add another radio antennae, just so you can launch larger objects. That's all I can think of. Keep forging.
Well as I have been designing V2 of this switch I realized something. I put the man cannons and a poor angle so its not as effective as it could be. V2 has multiple catapults that launch you just as far but with only 2 man cannons per catapult
If you don't mind putting a download link or pictures of your new version that would be great. I have an idea for a map where the middle level of Sandbox is used for a fairly normal map, but there are also two areas one for each team where they can basically shoot crap down at the other team. So also putting a catapult on each team's ground level area would probably fit in well with the map.. that is if I ever finish my other maps first and actually ever make it lol.
Trouble is you need a second person to activate it. Why not use fusion coils so you can blow up with a nade or bullets to send you off. Other than that i love it.
V2 is activated by the person who's being catapulted. The custom power us is placed on the radio antenna where the player being launched stands so once they get on the catapult they're catapulted.
Is it just me or can I not find the DL link in his post? Well i looked in his fileshare and here it is: Download Here
A map based on invading a team's based would find this very useful. Imagine keeping the enemy back, not letting them get into your gates just before they launch a catapult and send their toughest dude in for a surprise attack. This is great, good job.
