Have people taken a look at this?

    http://highimpacthalo.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42350

Its a giant open space outside the boundry of Blackout.

It looks like it could be VERY useful for some people. I can't check it out because my Halo 3 Limited Edition Disc Replacment hasn't come through the mail yet.

Sounds very useful. Too bad it has no floor. I'm sure It will remind myself of my current attempts to make a nice looking house over the cliff of Avalanche.

Well, both ideas sound nice but the only problem is that you are very limited to the items. There are no double walls, corner walls and other things in Blackout. No stairs in Avalanche...

Ya items are limited. I think I'm gonna still Forge on Foundry.

Yeah, but you never know what people could do with it.

Also, Blackout is a little dark, which also might affect maps made out there. Pretty cool though, I'll probably make something out there with my friend.

Dark? I've never thought that lighting could have any real affect on how a forged map plays, have you tried it out?

If it's dark, you can have more hiding spots and stuff.

God what annoys me is the color of these stupid boxes. If you make a red one it can just be green next time you start the game...I wonder what the point of making them different colors was at all if they werent going to stay that way. Retarded. I was considering making a ctf map up here but...I don't like these stupid colored boxes.

I don't know about blackout... it has such a limited pallet to work with. I mean ghost town and avalanche are missing major things, but the make up for it with other new items: Watchtower bases, ramps, those golden things on avalanche, barricades, and barriers.

In ghost town there aren't any BIG forgable spots other than the one base.

Blackout has the huge glitched area.

Avalanche has the looks over the cliff, and the glitchable spots behind the bases.

If what the poster at HIH says is true, this is awesome.

This was my biggest gripe with blackout - small map confined by equally small invisible barriers.

The area outside blackout is not as spread out as foundry, its a little smaller, but the area must be atleast 10 boxes high, when foundry is barely 5. This means that it would be a great contender for vertical themed maps.

People like Mallet, who dont use the Foundry floor anyway, should really try this, the pallet isnt so bad, you still get all the boxes and bridges, and also walls.

Also we have the bonus of it bieng a completely different setting, we have kill barriers to work with. Its a dark outdoor setting, much more interesting than dull ol' Foundry. The sky is epic, and if you dont like the colours, we have the lighting filters to mess with.

I recommend people trying this out for a map, it isnt all that bad if your patient.

Hmmm...this sounds very interesting indeed. Good for vertical-themed maps, you say? I might just have a look and see if I can do something with it.

    Coolage.

I wanted to make a challenge map on Blackout, but didn't have enough spaces for all the challenges i wanted to throw in.

This should give me enough space to make it so much more.... fun. *evil grin* :D
