D-Day

    Hi guys,
    I decidid to make a D-day map because i thought playing on it is fun. Well theres not much story behind the map. Other then the Landings on the beaches which we study about. Ok heres the map, its an infection gametype. The Germans forced colour is black and the Americans colour is Green. The Americans are the zombies in this,

    You say not to critisize it but then you wont learn anything, so im gonna ignore that. Alright then lets get started. Number 1 problem with this is spawn killing. 2 warthogs arent considered cover to stop spawn killing. Once someone takes them then theres absoluetly nothing to protect them when they spawn. It doesnt matter how good a map is, if the spawns are bad the map is bad. I know what you were trying to do with this but im almost certain the area is quite a bit larger then that. Im sure you have enough items left over (unless you didnt use a stacked canvas) so just make it longer/wider. I realize that the real weapons used were most likely similar but dont you think thats a little over kill? Try taking out the rockets to balance it a little bit. I am aware that alot of people died during that fight but I can garantee that no one will want to repeat that, at least not to the extent that it was. So try and balance it. Another thing you need is cover, more vehicles (maybe moongose?) and you should add more detail in your post.

    Agreeing with Jellofish. Don't tell people NOT to criticize your maps. That's why people post them here: to get input and feedback to make their maps more interesting in the future.

    More spawn points over a wider area would at least shrink the amount of spawn killing. More cover would also help with spawn killing, like roofs over the spawn areas. I hate to say this... but I think that if you used some more interlocking/merging that it would benefit your map. Not only would it look more appealing, but you'd be surprised what kind of crazy stuff you can do with merging.

    Making the path from the warthogs to the main defender's base would also help, since right now, it seems like as soon as the attackers spawn, they could just jump in their warthogs, get out, and dash to the base. Remove some of the power weapons, too: it might seem like a good idea in your head, but too many power weapons isn't good for any map. Oh, and you might want to straighten out the ceiling on the defender's base. It probably won't affect gameplay, but it's for the better that you change it. Nit-pickers like me will be all over that in an instant.

    I recommend tube ramps for quick, easy cover. You should probably place some on the sniper tower, or at least some sort of cover there. Snipers like to have an eye on their target, but it'd be useless if they had nothing to hide behind, as they'd just as easily get picked off as the people whom they're sniping.

    Well Ok Mabey merging would be a pretty good idea oh and just letting you know that in total if you play with 16 people there will be only 4 Germans deffending so they need power weapons or they are going to be screwed in seconds. Probably since most people play maps like this with 8 friends or less the 1 or 2 deffenders will only be able to take out 2 warthogs at most. Actually you cant see the spawn points since I changed it to Spawn areas. Its alot of fun when you play it especially when the german gets cornered. 1 round wont last more than 5 min at most. Withot the Rockets the Germans are no better than dead. Ill Make a version 2 with more cover and merging, alot more cover for the snpier. well ok thanks for the suggestions.
