Pyrokinetic is an assymetric multi-level map. It's inspired by prismer.... originally... now it's inspired by too many count. The map is designed for comfortable 8 player gameplay. It plays well for multi-team, FFA, Team Slayer, KoTH, Oddball and One-Flag. Last minute name change? Sweet. Well, the map is a beauty. But of course I'd say that, being that its inspired by Prismer! =P I've played about five or six matches on this during testing and I loved the gameplay and your design. I only had a few complaints which I mentioned in forge. Did you make any changes with what I suggested? If not, I understand. Just a few minor distastes really. Free for all Slayer was my favorite gametype on this map and it works best with the design (out of the variants that I tested). CTF doesn't work quite as well, but it is still pretty fun. I really like the weapon placement and the spawn setup. The forging is just as superb as it always it. Great map, Urban! They just keep getting better! EDIT: I see you flipped your teleporter node horizontal. Good choice.
I got to play some games on this tonight. Good map, but I have to dis-agree with Gunnergrunt.... I liked it better on the Ctf (one flag), then I did on the FFA or Team slayer. The sword spawn is awsome, and if you can live long enough to get it out of the centre, then you'll kick some ass with it!
Copy and paste is a wonderful thing. You must've put a lot of work into this thread Urban 2 sentences, some pics, and the download link. I'm impressed. Haha, I played this a while ago, from looking at the pictures I can tell you've made a good many changes. From memory, shotgun was rape during free for all matches, and sniper spawn had way too much traffic. I'm hoping you fixed those two issues?
My favorite one flag map to date. Despite all of the flaws combat situation wise ;D, it still plays very well and I really enjoyed the time spent testing and collecting no-scopes for a possible MONTAGE. The sword in the middle of the map mixes up gameplay, great job Urban! I think I like this more than the iconic Prismer (no offense Ell3ment and Gunner). Needs moar RPG!
nice name swap haha, this was defiantly on of my fav maps to play on. Great to look at and super fun to play.
I really like playing this. You can really tell that it was some what inspired by Prismer with all the walk ways and what not. The map plays really well on snipers, you didnt mention that... I love all the jumps to get to place to place on the map, there very usefull. This is a map worth keeping on your hard drive for EVA!
This looks really good. The new name is WAY better than the old one, and the map looks better without the FX. The forging is pretty much perfect, and the sword spawn is awesome. Nice work. A dl from me.
FFA was my favorite gametype, but i also really like the others, i think its overall a pleasing and enjoyable map, a great job indeed. EDIT: haha i forgot, the name is pretty epic too.
I've played this map from its beginning stages to where it is now as an absolutely incredible map. Everything about it helped create extremely balanced gameplay and flow especially the bridge across the middle which was definitely the most useful and fun to be on during CTF. And did I not mention this map is beautiful aswell...? Every merge is seamless and I actually did not feel any bumps during the games. So, when you take a beautifully aesthetic map like this with a gameplay that is really balanced yet unique, you get another incredible Urban Myth map. Excellent work!
saw the map preview for this a while back, it looked promising to say the least. it definitely seems like the map has blossomed into a beauty. ill dl and play it as soon as my xbox gets back. keep on forgin'!
This map looks incredible for being in the sky bubble. This map is aesthetically pleasing, well Suiting a fast pace feel a lot more than other slow-designed maps. I like what you did for the grass hallway and the lift concept. I had a chance to play this before it was released I think with Cowboypickle23 and the game play turned out good. The map layout its self is creative and the weapons seem to be well balance. Keep the maps coming along 5/5
