Roller Derby Created By x DREAM 76 x Gametype Supported: Roller Derby Recommended Players: 8-16 Roller Derby is my latest creation. I have always been a fan of the Roller Derby sport and thought it would be sweet to try to create a game where players could try to knock each other off a giant oval! The zombies game variant worked out great for this concept. Basically only a few players spawn on the infected team. The Red team tries to survive for as long as possible, trying to earn points without being knocked out of the race! The game variant took me several versions to get the balancing correct. I like how the game turned out and will be fun for all. Object of the game: The object is simple. If you are the black team you try to smash into the red team and send them flying over the edge. If you are the red team, you can also try to knock the black team over the edge. Kills are worth three points and if you fall over the edge by mistake, you will loose a point! The game is exciting and often comes down to some tense moments. The rounds are set to six minutes. You might want to try seven minutes if you have a really big party. Well, enjoy the map and post any comments you have. Thanks! Burning Mantis
This map looks really interesting, not to mention unique. I'd think, though, that trying to push each other in mongooses might be a bit challenging. When playing Infection, does everyone deal no damage? I only see one spawn area, and having everyone deal no damage would make the most sense, unless there's another spawn area for the zombies/other team.
This is an interesting idea. It's very unique too, I've never heard or seen anything like this before. It also seems like a lot of fun. You made your map very well, and I think that I'll be able to get few good games on it. Good job.
I really enjoyed testing this with you. The gametype works great, but I wish there was a more reliable way to infect people because the shields don't always go down. But you did as good a job as possible to make it work. I also wish there was a way to get more Mongooses or other vehicles on the map so people don't have to wait and fear getting assassinated. But like I said, there's really nothing you could do to make it work better. It is still a lot of fun. Hopefully I can get my account back soon so I can play in your parties. Great work.
Now this is what i'm talking about. Wow, this is amazing. Awesome sense of aesthetics in the center that block the POV. That is a Mantis and its a pretty good recreation of A mantis image. The gametype is creative and is a lot of fun. I played it with my neighbor and his friends and it was a ball. Good job on this one 5/5.
Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah, if the front bumpers hit than it does a lot of damage. If you just skim someone and you fly off the edge, it doesn't really do much shield damage. Sometimes team work really work out in this game. If one person smashes someone, another teammate can push them over the edge from the side.
even tho i have not tested tis i think there might be a few problems 1. sinse it's infection your the person who has to kill them not let them fall of the edge. ( although if u hit them a few seconds before they go of the edge u still infect them. ) have you set the life for 1 life for the humans? 2. Can you get on the middle structure i can't see it but if you could people would just get of the mongoose and get up there. 3. it's a pretty darn wide track it may take a while to infect the others. I love the design of the map fully and i would like to have a game on it one day with ya but til then i can't really see if im right or wrong
No. It's not one life. That would have not really worked out for the idea. It is not really as hard as you think to infect someone. The more players that become infected, the harder it is for the last humans to survie. You cannot get into the middle structure. You cannot cheat. Let me know if you get a chance to play it with a party. I would like to see if everyone is happy with the game settings. Thanks!
No. The track is double wide on purpose. It's really not that hard to knock people off. Did you actually play the map, and if you did what was the party size? Once there are a lot of zombies, it's actually pretty hard to survive.
Me and a couple other T4K members joined you mid-way through a game of this, at first I had no idea what was going on, I was just driving, however I soon got the hang of it. I wasn't very good at it though :/ Anyway, I enjoyed the short game on it (Left because of connection issues), the mantis was a nice touch too! Oh btw, its not to hard to knock people off!
