Remember people. Read. Play. Then Comment or else the LOLmonkey will stab you with ROFLknife and you'll have a WTF face and a decapitated head. This a conquest map on standoff. You might just think it sucks because it has the word standoff in it, but then you would be wrong. Rocky Ridge is a conquest map on the cliff face of standoff. Location makes this original and although this has been done once before on the cliff side, I sought to make it better now that we have ghost merging. Complete with some great aesthetics (for standoff that is) and some good gameplay, why wouldn't you download it. But srsly, I've tried a few games recently and they turned out pretty good. The center of this map is the real chokepoint of the map like most conquest maps. The fun thing is that you can jump over the gap making that area complete chaos. I just love chaos. Also unique to the map is the rockslide just to add a little fun. I have added just enough rocks to give it good aesthetic touch and few enough so the rocks don't obscure movement when walking. Well, I doubt you read it but if you did congrats. It's finally posted. I really loved this map, and the Rock Slide is amazingly epic. Everything is perfect, great job Ace. By the way, I just noticed something in the video, which I am going to look into. It might be a way to escape the map.
Well, if you find a way please tell me. I know you and a few other people tried unsuccessfully to escape. If you can, I'll probably update it. However, knowing that most people who play conquest have integrity I don't think it will be a problem. Nobody will try to escape anyway because cheating=booted. If you do find a way though show me. What I mean by that is we're not talking about little kids who have to manipulate the map in order to win.
I noticed that under the middle territory, one of the open boxes is revealed. It would be easy to get in there, so either block it off or make sure that your territories don't extend into the ground.
Aww man! I was thinking about doing this but i was to busy...beat me to it. well its pretty good. I like the middle section. I like the idea of barrels falling, might be annoying but still fun. Mabe you should have put like a little wing, for sniping on each side. Or even another level, like a stairs that goes on the side then back up to the mid section. Like a V shape.
The map is so close to the barrier that if you try to get in it and capture the territory, you will die from falling. What you don't see in the middle part is how close you actually are to the death barrier. But don't worry about that. And another thing (forgot to quote), if I added stairs that would add separate paths and that just wouldn't work out well with conquest and if I added stairs, then you could probably get out. If I added wings for sniping, that would promote camping. Plus I did not include snipers because the long range of sight would promote camping where you spawn.
Certainly seems to be one of the more creative works I've seen in a while. Well thought-out and executed, not to mention making a really unique use of Standoff. Great work! -=Moxus=-
u used standoff perfectly.....this iz a very awesome and very creative conquest map i enjoy see all the detail and asthetics..and the middle territory is awesome in the pit....good job
Just a slightly more updated version of Betawaffle's 2 year old Cliffhanger. It also had some debris rolling from above. Good work though, its nice to see something like that evolve after so much time.
Well, having downloaded this, I really liked the setup, but there was one big flaw. It was too narrow, imo. I know this might have been hard to manage on Standoff, but perhaps getting rid of the railings to provide more space would have been sufficient? Even just little perches every now and then to add some variety and breathing space. Other than that, very nice.
I definetly remember playing this, even back when people respawned on the wrong side Great choice of location firstly, I don't think most people would choose to make any sort of map here! The barrels dropping were a great aesthetic touch. The only thing that I did not really like was being able to jump over the bridges in the middle, because that's meant to be a choke point right? Eh, that's just my opinion but great all around conquest map otherwise!
If I ever remake it, someone at xforgery suggested getting rid of the chokepoint by getting rid of the room in the center. No room=less chaos=less assasinations. Once I finish my asset map and my swords map, I'll remake all of my (good) maps. I just misinterpreted the meaning of chokepoint. Almost too chaotic. But thanks for the advice.
Ah its finally posted, i can say this map is incredibly unique and well forged, its one of those enjoyable conquest maps. I really enjoyed the few tests i played on this, i had a great time. A truly fine map indeed one to be proud of for sure, and you kept the recievers yay.
