Since about two days ago GTA 4 free mode will not let you change auto aim, police or friendly fire in the pre-game options.

At first I thought they had limited it to use on the lost and damned update, however my friend who bought it can't change the options either.

Does anyone have this problem? Does anyone know why?

Are they all now forced to "on"?
Probably because of all the stupid games of RPGs with friendly fire and police set to "off". Lags up the servers pretty bad...

    Auto aim is on
    police is off
    friendly fire is off.

Strange thing is this is my usual game setup, so it's like it's froze..

I was wondering the exact same thing!

It's not as much fun running around LC if all you have to kill is scared shitless civilians.

The Host has an option to disable them entirely, and they're mainly an annoyance, like traffic (another option), so in many games they've been disabled by their hosts.

Well this thread is nearly a year old. If you still haven't found out, it's pretty simple. Pull up your phone in single player and go to multiplayer. It's been a while since I've played, but I believe there is a sub menu within the multiplayer menu called preferences. Go down to police and change it to what you like.

This happened because one of the patches caused the police preference default to be "none".
