Welcome to Awesome Town! This little town is a great place for slayer, team slayer, multi-team slayer, king of the hill, territories, oddball, juggernaut, CTF, ETC... Yeah the layout actually works well for just about any gametype you can think of. The hills and territories are all inside different houses so it works quite well. Originally my friend started making a castle on one side of Sandbox and I started making a village on the other side. The village was supposed to attack the castle. Once I had finished one tiny house in the time it took my friend to finish the entire huge castle we agreed the sloppily built "Hasty Castle" wasn't nearly as cool as the ghost merged "Happy House" Later I made more houses and turned the map into a small vilage with 3 houses, a gatehouse, a tiny shed, and a wall around the whole place so you can't get out. So far, people seem to really like the map no matter what gametype we try it on, it seems to be a success, at least among my friends.

    Overview 1:
On the near left is the gatehouse, on the near right is the attackers house. The far left is the "Happy House" (original/first house I built and the defender's base)

    Oerview 2:

Gatehouse on left, happy house in center

    Overview 3:

    The shed:
    Defender's flag spawn/bomb plant

    Inside House 2:

I wonder if theres anything behind those pallettes?

"secret" passageway from house 2 to house 3

    GET OUTTA MAH HOUSE!!

    Weapons:
    2 BRs
    3 Spikers
    3 SMGs
    2 Maulers
    1 Shotgun
    1 Flamethrower

    Equipment:
    1 Regenerator
    spike/frag grenades

    Anyway, download, enjoy, review, discuss

a little small but it could work with a 1v1v1v1 king of the hill or a free for all koth.

if you have any money left over i would add a bridge or something to a small tower just to expand the map a little, and dont worry about barricading it off, if there arent any vehicles or weapons outside the housew area then it wouldnt matter

It's actually bigger than it looks, size-wise it's comparable to Guardian, don't forget there's 3 houses, a gatehouse, an alley behind a house, and a commons area in the center.

Seeing how neither of you have played the map, I think I might know a bit more about it. It works, believe me. Try it. I have to admit those screenshots make the map look quite small. I would suggest anywhere from 2 to 6 players on this map (maybe 8 at the most).

Yep Team doubles is the limit, or FFA, pretty nicely forged for such a small map

    EPIC FAIL

    Guardian's a pre-dlc map - it ships with Halo 3.

Your map is pretty good. Small, yes. It looks well forged as well. It looks like a lot of fun for FFA. But, it looks bland. There aren't many 'wow' structures and the color scheme is quite bland. Adding in some lights, gold items or coloured columns will help a lot. Eh, still looks pretty cool.

I love "building-type" maps & this one looks pretty good! I love the flamethrower, cause it would be pretty in-close battles. I have to agree with some of the guys on here, that it is probably BEST suited for FFA, not just cause of the size, but the layout. Example: What if you were playing Team Doubles Oddball, then one team gets the ball and runs out into the sand dunes. It would be pretty hard for the other team to get that ball back. Just an example, I do really like this map. And NO, I have never played on it, so I might be mis-judging the size.

wow. i really like this map just from the pics. i think it has huge potential. i beleive you when you say this map is bigger then it looks (assuming the houses have 2 floors) i think what you should do since your reallly good at making houses like this you should expand this into a larger area. still close off but add maybe 2-3 more houses to let this play well with EVERY gametype even though im sure it plays great with low partys anyways.

Honestly tho, if you were to make this bigger with the same clean style of forging you already had it would be quite fantastic. Sure it probably already is pretty amazing but hey, the bigger the better right?

To Flameblad 3: first of all thanks for the constructive critiscism, I can kinda see where you're coming about not being wowed by how the map looks, but it does have a kindof medieval village feel to it, that's why I stayed away from colored columns and lights, although I guess I could change the chimneys to gold.

To TheClubHouse: don't worry, you can't get over the surrounding wall, you're blocked in (although some guys from a jump clan found a way out, most people wont)

To Darksoullll: I think that expanding the map could be interesting. Unfortuneately I am just about out of wooden pieces for the roofs so the new houses wouldn't match, that's why I stopped after 3. And yes, all houses have 2 floors

To everyone else: thanks for all constructive critiscism

I would cut down on the number of short-range power weapons, especially on a map like that. Why don't you change the shotgun for something like a plasma pistol or plasma rifle. I haven't tested the map though, so maybe it's just fine.

I really like the look of this map. Simple and sweet. Its small but then again what is wrong with that if it plays well! There are many small team doubles maps. BUT with that said it is not hard to get out of. like a post above said. it would ruin oddball or if you have the lead in TS you could hide outside.

Still though It gets my DL.

Hamlet: The Game (aka Dane went Insane and everyone got Slain)

Whoever can guess the reference gets a cookie! The houses look nice, and the weapons add colour, but it's a little bland for my tastes.

    Replaying: The Game, Matt.

As for the map, it looks really well Forged, but simple. I like simplicity, and the building concept of a small town. I will have to DL this for mahself and see how it plays. Lookin' good.

This seems like a fun, tedious map to build. Nice job w/ the buildings. Seeing as this map takes up about just under half of the main level of Sandbox, it's actually not that small. Also, on this whole website, this is prolly one of the 4 or 5 "Village" maps I've seen. Nice interlocking and merging, looks Incredably smooth, calls for good gameplay.

Also, @ Whiizzle, about the size, he was prolly talking about the size of Guardian as a whole

I downloaded and played with my brother. it's amazingly forged, ans is quite big, also it plays great on duals/team duals. Everything about this map looks beautiful, the roofs especially, also as for the pedestal in the middle, i would love to see some sort of statue made somehow XD
also it is possible to get out of the map, but takes alot of effort(i've done it :D)
also on that little (secret?) passageway blocked by the pallets, i think you should get rid of the pallets, so people just need to crouch through, without breaking the pallets.
great job! 4.5/5 (i would love to see a bigger version of this one)
