Main Overview form Blue base View of Staircase to Rocket Spawn Red Base Spawn area and Central Base Turret View of Red Base from red Ghost Spawn Closer Look at Red Ghost Spawn Red Wing Turret and Forklift Overview of Middle Junction (Trip Mines placed Here can lead to sudden and unexpected Deaths) Overview of Red Base Overview of Blue Base Blue Base Revealing Brute Shot spawn New Sniper Spawn Only the Original Version of my map (Called Wufterderigo, don't ask...) has been properly tested, but on the original my friends thought it worked quite well with FFA Swords. It is Compatible with Team Slayer, CTF, and KOTH, maybe Bomb and Infection if I get around to adding in all the spawns for those game types. first congrats on the first post, nicely done... the map seem a little open in the case of top of the base, but i'll take your word that it is good (seen as you tested it and i havent) but the back of foundry is still open... is anything going on back there? or is it just blank?
I didn't really plan on using any of that space and didn't have the budget to block it off completely. I can't really incorporate it into the map because there is no space behind Red Base to expand backwards equally. And in the case of the top of both bases I don't really know if I can do much there without hampering the view from the Sniper spawn. The original idea was to link the Rocket Launcher spawn to the top of each base but then you lose the snipers ability to see the other base.
not bad for a first post, You seem to have gotten down the basics of a map in that you have the power weapons in the middle and open. You do have nice ascetics. Most first posters have really poor looking maps this has fairly good scenery. The cons would be that it is very open, and not very fluent. Shield doors also usually piss people off so i try to avoid them. And what you said about hampering the sniper spawn's view, thats fine, you don't want a too dominating sniper tower, and besides most maps don't position the sniper in it's best spot, that allows some decision for the sniper and a chance for the opposing team to kill him and take the sniper themselves.
I will consider Removing shield doors and possibly adding some more cover in the main bases. I might move the sniper to somewhere close to the Central Turret Spawn so the user has quite a distance to travel to get to the sniper tower. Thanks for your suggestions and I will hopefully start work on Version 2 soon
Great first post! didnt forget pics or anything, haha. Even added some color Anyway on to the map. It looks pretty good for a first post, and somehow reminds me of my very first map ever on foundry, except mine was a little less advanced. As everyone before me has said its a good idea to have some distance between the sniper's spawn point, and the prime location. Shield doors can be okay, but usually if they block the entrance to open boxes or such, its a bit more of a pain to try and kill someone, and then you end with a 10 second stare down which really isn't too fun. I can see lots of potential in you and I can tell you know the basics and a few more advanced techniques also. Lastly might I suggest that you geo-merge/ghost-merge the boxes into the ground? Makes the map look better, and eliminates the chance of losing precious grenades. Good job 3.5/5 from me ~AssassinChao
Aha! The infamous Creator of Space Waste! I quite liked that map... Anyway, About the ghost merging, I would try to Ghost merge all the boxes but I lack not only the skill to "Dummy" objects but also I lack the Patience to go and do every box. I will consider the Sniper Rifle and the Shield doors, But Thanks for posting!
