Recently many people have to come to believe that the Riddler will make an appearence in the next batman film. As far as i know only two people have constently been mentioned and that is Jonny Depp and David Tennant. If you look on google you will find many images people have made such as these: Personaly i think David Tennant looks more like the Riddler should but i think Jonny Depp would do a better job acting. Who do you think should play the Riddler?
I thought somewhere it was a leaked info that Jonny Depp was gona play the Riddler. Oh and the way we know is because it tells you lol, i think Gordon says something along the lines of some yahoo who calls him self the riddler.
Please explain. If look at the number of films that Johnny Depp has under development on imdb, you see that he is rather booked ("Untitled Batman Project" isn't one of them). However, that doesn't mean that he can't squeeze in Batman. It just makes me believe that he wouldn't be as likely to do it as someone else. As for the acting, I'm sure whoever they cast for the Riddler will do a fine job.
Christopher Nolan BARELY started writing the third one about a month ago, if that. Casting for movies doesn't happen until much later in the pre-production cycle, and the only sure-fires are those who were in prequels, and even those change sometimes. So no, Johnny Depp is not playing the Riddler at this point, but he very well could end up doing so when casting actually occurs.
Well personaly I would like to see david tennant play the riddler but that might be because i like seing fellow scots in movies
I would LOVE to see David Tennant play the Riddler. Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors, but after seeing Tennant's run on Doctor Who, I think he'd be perfect for the role.
Its a fairly common practice to write a role with a specific actor in mind. Obviously no contracts are signed until actual casting like you said, but for movies as big as the next Batman is going to be people talk to each other and compare schedules to get an idea of who might be in it. If Depp is interested, the role is as good as his already, but if he's got a scheduling conflict or just isn't interested for whatever reason, it won't be.
Yes, but another common practice is to cast other people into roles designed for specific actors. I wouldn't be surprised if Johnny Depp was cast, then had to drop out. He's starring in over 10 movies over the next few years. I'm merely eschewing the certainty with which HPM spoke about Johnny Depp playing the Riddler.
