    "In this land forsaken by God himself peace is but a distant memory. 12-16 players"

    A map, reminiscent of Blood Gultch and Waterworks, designed for tactical big team battles. The Guardian towers around Sandbox have been walled off to allow players to roam freely about the darkened sand dunes. With little cover out in the open, players are encouraged to use vehicals and team work to survive.

    Each team is granted a Spartan Laser, a Missle Pod, and a Shotgun to defend their bases. Vehicals are located behind the bases. A Sniper Rifle along with a Regenorator spawn on the scaffolding in front of each base. Spartan lasers are on the otherside of each bases respective teleportor, along with a Mongoose and Bubble sheild.The middle of the map contains a few power-ups and weapons to help anyone who gets stranded.

    Currently only supports Slayer, Multi-Flag and Multi-Bomb.*

    Im just wondering if the active camo in a map this side is used up when you get to another place of interest...?

    Looks great for vehicles :D

    Most likely yes, I put them out their in case you happen to be on foot or spawn mid-field. I figure being invisible will help you simpley get to a place of interest if you're stuck walking. I considered replacing them with custom speed increase.

    The map's size is little big... but the "Highside Dunes" look amazing. Nice map :)

    EDIT: I would Download it, but I'm close to 100 custom maps... srry.

    I'd recommend that you replace the Spartan Laser with the Missile Pod; because the map uses vehicles as the prime means of transportation, most, if not all people are gonna be riding around in some form or another. In this setting, a person with a laser could destroy all but one of a team's vehicles, killing most of the team, and depriving them of their vehicles. While still capable of dealing significant damage, the Missile Pod's shots, contrary to the laser, are more easily dodged. Therefore, each team would have more of a chance of surviving, and of having some vehicular fun on this larger map.

    Just my two cents.

    What would be the best idea is to make the spartan lazer and missile pod spawn later in the game because everyone would just rush for it and then all the vehicles would be gone. A version two with an add on to the bases would be cool as well.

    Edit: Add some cannon mans to the bases so if the vehicles are gone your not dead on the spot.

    I appreciate the positive feedback, as this is my first real attempt at a map.


    Near the end of my map making, I encountered the "Cannot spawn item too many on map" glitch, so I couldn't support all gametypes this time around. I have since found a Laserless Sandbox with a bigger budget (thanks GeneticSpartan), and am considering rebuilding the map from the ground up. So, hopefully, yes, all game types will be supported in due time.

    I put some thought into the number and placement of the Spartan Lasers on the map. I intially considered having just one on the map, but I've seen many instances on Valhalla where one team controls and dominates with the Spartan laser giving them an unfair advantage. So I decided to kinda mimic Sandtrap and give each team a laser, but I made it kinda far away from the starting spawn point, so people will have a chance to make it into a vehical and onto the map.

    The laser is also on the a 3 min. respawn, while the vehicals are on a 10 sec. respawn. So hopefully the laser will ward off the first rush of vehicals and then go out of play for a bit, allowing for use of vehicals again.

    I haven't had much of a chance to playtest it with my clan due to the holidays, but I'll see how they effect gameplay balance and go from there.

    Mobilty around such a big map is an on going concern for me. As of right now the bases are to far away from anything at all to allow a mancannon to be useful. I will try to beef-up and tweak the placement of the bases to make room for a mancannon or two.

    I agree with Moxs.Whats the point of having a great vehicle oriented map like this if your just gonna get Lasered every second you step in a vehicle?.. I suggest a missle pod at each base and maybe a rocket launcher also at each base.At least you have a chance to dodge those.I can just imagine all the noobs that would just camp all day long in there base with the laser,ruining any fun there was to be had with the vehicles.But other than that the map looks great for BTB games,nice job.I would love to see more people make BTB maps like this.
