mw2 border patrol & other private match games. Hey guys, my friends and I were trying to resurrect the old classics from cod4, and we couldn't find a place to do border patrol... has anyone played BP on mw2 yet? if so, what map, and how'd it go? I definitely miss the customs we could do in cod4 EDIT: This thread is now for discussion of BP, H vs H, etc...
Border Patrol: Search and Destory basically.... with a ****-ton of honor rules though... Defending Side Rules: -you are the "cops" -you are to get to a specified area to patrol(ie, top of building that overlooks the vast majority of the map) -you are to shoot your sidearm when your team is in this spot -you are not to EVER FOR ANY REASON LEAVE this spot EVER -you shoot the attackers(mexicans) on sight, no matter where they are. Attacking Side Rules: -you are the "mexicans" -you are to get to a different specified area(usually across the map from your spawn, and it also passes the cops patrol building to get there). -you MAY NOT shoot at the cops until you are in this specified building. Rules for both teams: -Bolt Action Sniper Rifle REQUIRED(no thermal, or heartbeat sensor, acog, silencer, or extended mags is fine... -any perk is ok -no Frag, Semtex, C4, or Claymores permitted(but throwing knifes are OK when in your designated area) -Any special grenade is permitted(flash, stun, smoke) -Secondary weapon is restricted to handguns only. -NO PLANTING THE BOMB!!!!!!! Basically, Mexicans wait for cops to shoot their pistols and then depart "across the border". If they safely arrive at the designated "shack" they can begin assaulting the cops. The cops can open fire at any time on the mexicans.
Try it on Rundown...or Highrise. The [not so] secret areas on Highrise have a pretty good overview of the entire map.
sounds fun as mess. does the entire cop group have to be in the same area? i might try to get a party to try this on a lot of maps. SRC- invite me if you start one- im on your friends list.
Ya it's a ton of fun, and yes the cops are usually on the same rooftop... and maps with grass cover are best since you can use the ghillie to your advantage... Rundown and Highrise have been tried, no success... I'm thinking if there's a rooftop on wasteland it'd be best for it(all the freaking grass!!!!)
are certain areas blocked off? because there is that one house on wasteland with the wood scaffolding- seems epic enough. i cant remember how to get on- but their is a way. edit- cold blooded pro would be epic with the ghillie. edit2- derail would be epic. try that. several different places.
I found the near-perfect spot on derail, but the only problem is it leaves part of the map unseeable by the cops, and the robbers could get there easily and have a free ticket to the shack... Originally, this was played on Overgrown, the cops would get on top of that one house with the machine gun, and there's a little shack across from it(by the farm, but not that big barn). every entry point could be covered, but in MW2 most of the possible spots have a point where they could get in without being noticed. EDIT: here's a video of it being played on cod4(except the mexicans usually crawl and be tactical rather than rush) YouTube- How to Play COD4 Border Patrol See how they are in the middle of the map, and they can cover most of the shack? there's no entrance that can't be seen, that way the mexicans have to actually try to get to the shack rather than get a free ticket.
I made up a game, Its sorta like BP. Well actually its an infiltration game. -On estate or Derail -HC search'n'destroy -Bomb settings put everything to the max time limit -switch sides every round -No launchers Honor Rules -------------- -Defenders can go outside the estate just not past the green house on Derail you can't go past the fence. -No planting the bomb -No telling where the attackers are. (you don't have to use this rule it just makes the game more interesting) Gameplay ------------ -Attackers infiltrate the estate and try to eliminate the defenders -Defenders obviously fend off the attackers -Attackers should use stealth as an advantage -Defenders should always be patrolling the estate otherwise the Attackers could slip in easily and you don't want that -Attackers should should spread out. if you have 4 players on each team there are 4 routes that. if you have 8 on each team have 2 players go up each route, but have the second player stay back until the first people to go are about half way up the route. Derail ----- -Defenders defend the warehouse -Then everything else is the same except you can have everybody go at the same time.(you can do the same thing on the estate version I just recommended that you should wait for the first people are halfway through their route)
I ****in' love you that's perfect! it'll take smoke grenades to enter(but it usually did anyways). sweetness...
Sure, I also tested it out last night, works beatifully! and spartan, that game sounds like hunter vs hunted with more people(in H vs H, there's only two attackers, they snipe, and the defenders use assault rifles) ^ that simulates all ghillied up quite nicely
Hmmm first time I heard of hunter vs hunted =( but o well anyways you could try invasion the "immigrants" start at the gas station and they try to attack the courtyard on the opposite end of the map, first people to make it to the back of the courtyard wins.
I believe theres a roof on Wastelands you can get on as well. It's over by the cemetery near the outer edge of the map.
i was already talking about this earlier you would have to block off half of the map though. another good thing about derail- the snow makes thermal so much less effective. so it would be pretty great.
ya but thermal is a no-no anyways... I've decided that thermal and heartbeat sensors are unfair, so we just banned them. But silencers are ideal for the mexicans that way they can make there first kills silent, and they aren't detected if they miss. I'm not gonna start a game for a few minutes(2 kills from unlocking snow camo!) Message me if you want to play... dloe48
