Since i see alot of threads about this popping up and people clueless about this i made a guide...

    Teardrop Merging
(I did not make this nor am i the first to know about it)

Teardrop merging is an easy way of merging opposed to ghost merging. It is mostly found as a glitch but can be used to your advantage.

    Uses:
Teardrop merging is used for merging on racetracks a lot but is used for any time you want to barely merge something.
It can be used to get a small merge such as this. Notice how the boxes are barely but surely merged.

    Guide:

So how do you teardrop merge?

Step 1: Make any object that is non moveable, for the example i will use a wall.

Step 2: Tilt the object to the position you want it to be in for the final product with RT. For the example we will make the wall at a 45[sup]o[/sup] angle.

Step 3: Without pushing RT, make the wall angled differently. The big tan object is a wedge huge, you slid the wall under there to position it differently without pressing RT.
Step 4: Save and quit. Start the game back up and the object will look somewhat like this.

    What happened?
The wall returned to its original angle but in the same position.

    How is this useful?
Well, if you want to get barely merged walls on a racetrack that may be one use, or make a wall that the top is merged in the ground is another use.

    How Does It Work?
What happens when you do this glitch is it restates the position to how it was the last time you pressed RT based from the teardrop, but it keeps the same position.

    How Can I Fix This?
A lot of people have this occurring accidentally. The way you can fix this is to simply press RT as soon as you are about to save and quit. This will make the last RT state when you save and quit.
    ___
This technique may not be as good as ghost merging, but it can be a major pain if is re-occurring and if you don't know how to fix it.

I still think my guide sucks. Never got around to updating it. *mopes*

There are more sub methods to tear drop merging that I haven't even gotten around to explaining, for example using another controller or partner to push objects.

.. yeah. I don't think a lock is necessary though.

To be honest I have no idea why people would use this instead of Ghost Merging.

I keeps your objects straight and can be super precise if you master the technique.
