Pre-DLC B-ball Swat on Construct

Remake of B-Ball Swat, a halo basket ball game (re-make of an older game I made). Unfortunately there is no dribbling, as assault does not allow auto-pickup. Dropping the ball is Double Dribbling.

Picture: Place to go to score the point. Don't be fooled by the indicators, as this leads you under the map to score.

Features:

1. Bomb blows up under feet/map, while you look through window after it is planted.
2. Ball spawns in corridor making it easy to get, hard to get out.
3. It uses areas outside the normal map for better gameplay.
4. Quick game-play with two rounds. Game to 10 points.
5. Secrete required to obtain the ban-hammer on the floating box. Hint, must dunk to get the ball by using Gold teleporters to the left and to the right.

It is symmetrical until Bungie allows multi-player assault. Other nice feature would be an overtime round if the game is tied. One point wins. Auto-pickup is needed for dribbling. 2 vs 2 vs 2 would make things interesting as well, as it is a one court/one hoop game.

Setup for 3 teams, even if only 2 allowed to play. It is best played 2 players a team (2 vs 2, or more). 1 vs 1 doesn't make a good game, as weapons are long range and one player has to hold the ball.

B-ball Swat Game Type "Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details", as it is the most fun assault setup where the person with the ball turns black for an added playing ability. You jump higher and have better shields (or you could just be the same as everyone else).

You can notice the antenna and the box holding the teleporter. If you go through the side teleporters of Gold (first picture here), it dunks you instead of tossing the ball, leaving you in the ring. If the ball blows up, and you aren't quick enough to climb the antenna, you do too.

Hint: The teleporter holding the antenna is a secrete. It uses the teleporters under each box to teleport you above one of them. It is random which one, so it may take several tries to get to the floating box in the center.

This is the reward for making it up the antenna to safety, just in the nick of time. It's easy to do, but with the pressure of gameplay, may prove challenging.



And last, but not least, here is my way to allow the longest route to get from the bottom to the ball, but still have plenty of options of which way to get there.



The biggest weakness of this map would have to be how easy it is to score once you get the ball out of the long corridor (where sword is defaultly). But hopefully it will be challenging enough that that won't be an issue. If it is, you may try removing both side teleporters, as that would make any attempt in using Gold lift, while it is protected, useless.

p.s. I consider this game a 'long-range attacking' alternative to Grifball.

And I would like to thank Arazra and Phenomenal for helping me with setting this post up. I didn't realize how advanced copy/paste from bungie forms was, and that using imageshack was allowed/recommended way of showing screen shots.

 

I don't always have access to my PC, since usually I am at work. And I don't want to distract myself/use their hardware for personal use, or I would have been able to change the above sooner.

Here is the main objective, with the ball being at the end of sword. Notice the items on the left and right of the passage. This is where the majority of the work took place. It was quite tough keeping it so you can't jump through here, even with a few lucky grenades. I also had to remove the generators, because their explosion was just powerful enough that there was a slim chance they could be used to cheat (though good luck if you do manage to slip through now. I don't consider that cheating for the difficulty required .




I forgot to mention the most exciting part of not being able to get out of here. The platform below. Only those with wings can make it down this way.




Oh, and I need to thank the forum admins for moving this thread to the correct location. I was thinking, swat + assault as competitive, but wasn't thinking ranked type of competitiveness.

This site has so many good things. It is a pleasant change from some other customs 4h forum I have been on a while back. I'm looking forward to trying out more peoples maps shared here.
