I am currently making a zombie map in which you have to go up 1 level at a time(it is going to be a decently wide building that is 5 stories high and each level opening up after 1 minute). Then a thought came to mind... Asset could be an option for this kind of map aswell. The thought is that the defending team comes from the top but also has teleporter(s) that spawn to each floor or a hole(s) that goes to each floor(probably holes since I have already started this layout. Thing is that I have something to make it different from the other asset maps, one of the defenders picks up a custom powerup that allows them to be stronger for 90 seconds and it spawns at 3min or I might find a way to make delay switch so it spawns at like 4 minutes. Anyways, the custom power up would make them stronger, but the defender also picks up a grav lift right next to the custom power up. This makes it so the attackers must find this defender and kill him for the grav lift. The grav lift allows to get to the top of the building through the removal of a 'COLUMN, DAMAGED SMALL'. This would add a large twist to the game, it would take some time to get the correct amount health and damage that the defender would have but I believe it would add an interesting twist to the game. I was also thinking about doing the same thing but with infection and having an infected get it at 5min+. I believe that this would be much easier of a gametype to figure out instead of slightly recreating the asset one. It would be great if someone could give me an asset map guide and how asset works because I still don't quite know how it completely works, I think I just know the jist of it. Ideas and tips are great, as are your feelings about the grav lift and whether or not to put it to infection. I like the idea of having to kill someone to get the grav lift, but what stops the person who originally has it from just using it?
I thought about this already, I believe the best way to solve it is to make it so that if they use it, have the item on instant respawn so that it just spawns right back, making it much easier for the team to get to the top. But I have figured that instead of making it a roof, I will make it into a large balcony instead.
