I'm DRO Noble Six. It's my clantag and all that. my gamertag is diff for now. anyway thats the story for that. I joined forgehub because Maelstrom has told me about it and because our forge team needs some new artists and i'm looking to contract or recruit members. I'm a senior in high school so besides being a council member at DRO im mostly worrying about school and college apps. I'm also a musician and an artist so dabble with those here and there when I have time. 17, aloha, oregon. uh-low-uh is the pronuniation. its a nice place I'm glad to be here. We need some more forgers because maelstrom's parents are addicted to grounding him and our other major forger is often busy. I'm happy to fully recruit people into the clan but im satisfied with contracting people for maps each quarter. we do a map pack every quarter and im prepared to put up 1600 msp for each completed, clean map (to maelstrom's satisfaction). drogaming.com and drogaming.com/forums is where you should go if ur interested. shoot me an email as well if u like jamesalexburns@yahoo.com. ill be around this site once every few days to see whats up but the best way to contact me is on the forums or via email. actually could an admin change it to DRO Beast? i went back to my old name, missed it too much haha.
why hello there, i too, am in high school, i hope to see your work here on this site in the future, make sure you read the rules and know how to properly post a map/embed pictures, or else some dude may yell at you. also, there are alot of things to do here, in case you didnt know. there are forums for map making; graphics/arts; the testers guild; off topic, where norlinsky and camofo lurk; and the shoutbox, which is found by clicking the "forum" button/tab thing. on behalf of myself, i hope you find your stay pleasant. and remember, the brighter the user's colour, the more likey they have the power to ban you, so play nice!
Welcome to Forgehub. Just so you know, since I noticed you needed memebers for your forge team, be careful about advertising.
third party product? not sure we fall into that category but thanks for the tip. i dont forge a lot but im going to start a couple of things because im the media director at our site and should be able to handle myself in that aspect.
That's basically any 3rd party website that has any relation to ForgeHub, in other words. For instance, Google is fine. A Halo-focused site, if it isn't affiliated, isn't. Not going to do anything on your post, but just so you know...no advertising on this site, not even though private message or any of that. Just to clarify, though: if your site is looking for maps to PLAY, feel free to download and go right ahead and play them and use them how you like, as long as you don't steal them (claim them your own or adjust them without creator's permission). If you need some kind of special whatever...well, that's a different story and not really something that belongs on this site unless you run a decently well thought out contest with prizes. Anywho, enjoy the site. I can see you're new to Forge, look at the Forging 101 for basic technique help; there's not much in 201 or anything as far as design, but that's the whole challenging part of Forge
thanks. so i have two questions: can i contract forgers? ex: 1600 msp for a completed/clean map with theme X for my community's use in a quarterly map pack, fully attributed to the creator. can i ask people to join my community? im guessing thats a hard no lol and i can understand.
for contracting, basically just call it a contest, and use the points as a prize. for people joining your 'community' if we're talking about a website, then no, you cant do that, you'll turn out like AZN FTW; but without the features. if we're talking about your neighborhood, well that'd just be silly
As for contracting...maybe. To be honest, your best bet is to just run a contest with a prize. If you're contracting for your site, though, you can't. You can really find nicely forged maps of about anything on the site to be honest, though. And it's free. Definitely a big no on that one. That's direct advertising.
