I want to make a video for my new track and was wondering what is a good easy video editing program. I don't need a lot, just add intro/credits, insert screenshots, and add a song while keeping original sound from the rendered video. I was going to have a friend do it, but he seems to want to do things his way instead of mine. I was going to do it myself originally, so it's not a big deal, but I don't have a clue what program to use. So, anyone have any suggestions?
Windows movie maker.... lol god no.. Adobe after effects only $999.99!!! not even $1000!!! You can google this though and get some that cost about 50-100 dollars
Sony Vegas with some special-ness *cough*. There is a trial for it, like most programs though. Windows movie maker is friggin' fer teh winz.
Uh, okay. I have no idea what either you are talking about... but cost isn't a problem. I just want an easy-to-use program.
Cos't isn't a problem? After effects is industry standard effects much better than sony vegas. A little lower is sony vegas. Which also good easier then after effects but not as powerful. Pinnacle studio is a great tool for the price, the one I recommend. Then there's windows movie ma.....
I recommend Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9. Priced at $85, it's the best of it's price range and is a very useful program. I use Sony Vegas and Adobe After Effects for all my videos and of the two, Sony Vegas is the easiest to use and allows faster editing. After Effects is definitely for more serious editing and takes quite a bit of editing experience to use efficiently. Set aside an hour and watch this: YouTube- Phurion's Montage Guide Episode 2 :: Sony Vegas Tutorial :: Amazing Tutorial For Beginners!!! I know you're not interested in becoming a montage editor, but Phurion does a great job explaining the basics of editing in Sony Vegas. Titles are very easy to do and have a lot of options for editing. ...or WMM.
Adobe After Effects is a digital motion graphics and compositing software, not a non-linear editor... @Shaddo For what you're trying to accomplish, Windows Movie Maker will be adequate. It allows an additional audio track to the native audio track of the video clip, and allows you to make simple cuts. Best of all, it's free and is probably already on your computer, unless you have a Mac, in which case you can use iMovie (the Mac equivalent). Now, obviously neither one of these programs would be tolerable for long if you were to create videos on a more regular basis, but for what you described they'll be fine.
