? that looks like a normal eva helmet to me, just with a skull painted on (cough cough Ghost from MW2 cough) Also, i believe the lightening is a covie ship coming out of slip space, the explosion could be the UNSC destroying something of importance, like in ODST where they blow up the Intel center.
It's not paint. Look closer, the Brute skull is carved into the helmet. oh, and this: edited (sorry squiddy, with a Bungie affiliation, we can't show or support leaks) ;-) EDIT: awww, man! The picture was fake anyway! It was a 'shop of the original "tom morello picture of the splazer over the cinematic cutscene.
i wish in halo 3 you could customize your armor like that... i hope that game you can and get more call of duty ish with classes such as heavy and light but fast...
Did anyone see the actual trailer released, The elite at the end with the sword! Hell yeah we get to fight elites again =) And well even if it is carved into the helmet, its still an normal eva helmet with the carving added to it. It's definitely not the esp style that the Gama company wears.
Perhaps if you wear the EVA armor perm or whatever it is in Reach, you emblem is the carving...... sheet
unsure if this has been posted yet... i stopped reading at page 10 because it seems to be just repeated stuff... This is my mates theory: You are not playing as either Tom or Lucy.. The opening cutscene shows you saddle up in a warthog, put your helmet on and arrive at a base. When you arrive there, notice how all soldiers are wearing their armour and are preparing to go to battle? The first guy is loading a sniper rifle....... You attempt to enter the HQ, and are blocked off. The Lieutenant and commander are talking around a tactics table. Did it occur to anyone that what the commander and lieutenant said has nothing to do with your character and is actually about their mission they are embarking on? His theory is, Tom and Lucy need retrieving (the bit were spartans dont die, they just go missing part) thats why soon as you join their squad, you fly out immediately. you spend your first few missions locating the two spartans, then you return to Reach to defend it from the covenant attacks for the rest of campaign and uncover whatever additions bungie want to throw into their story.
Thats not a bad theory but I think this cutscene happens a little before halfway through the game. Maybe a couple missions in. The first few will probably be the covenants first attack and others. That didn't seem like a first attack.
After the new video of the interview with Marty O'Donnell (Bungie Reach project page), he said that this was the opening scene, so this is the beginning. When watching the cutscene again, the same spartan is putting a helmet on and then when it zooms out, the spartan in the side seat is locking his/her helmet, and the same spartan walks in and is addressed as surviving Pegasi. So that blows that theory...
It was also said in that video that the beta comes this SPRING and that the game is nearly finished already.
I'm pretty sure the best thing about that trailer was the BR... I mean, I was already cumming during most of it, but during like the 2 seconds where you see the BR on the faceless spartan's back, I was just spraying everywhere.
George says "is this all that survived pegasis", The Commander (who over that is) says Spartans dont die they just go missing. In my mind i think you play as a Spartan II, not tom or lucy, seeing as they wear A.weaker armor, B. arn't as genetically enhanced, C. Spartan II's work well with Spartan II's they were brought up together, so throwing a Spartan III in their would **** it up (my mind anyway) Althought the armor the main character is wearing doesn't look like regualr Spartan armor (although no one is wearing regular armor) but it doesn't look like the described esp armor that Tom Lucy and Gama company wear.
i see where you're coming from, but as i see it, you are a spartan III because in the book "ghosts of onix", it says spartan II's do the impossible on thier own, spartan III's need a family, and you're in a 6 man squad, a little much for the spartan II's. basically, the way i see it, there must be more spartan III's that survived pegasi then depicted by the books, mainly because i strongly belive that you will play as one of them. ~or, bungie can go the way they went with ODST, and give us an entirely new character, which would be pretty sweet. also, if the timeline changes or something, there is a possibility that you could play as lucy, as she is mute, and so was ODST's rookie, add MC in the mix and you get the feeling bungie <3 mimes.
Yeah that does make the whole "more of a squad feeling for Reach" make sense. Honestly id hope for a completely new character that just makes ODST Halo 3 and possible the books tie in together, So just a new Spartan III someone we have no clue about (like odst) but works with the surviving Spartan III's which in turn help the Spartan II's But if you do remember the Spartan II's weren't always solo, there we companies of 4 to 5 members so idk we will just have to see. I bet a congolmerate of our speculations are accurate though. I wonder if bungie hates it when the fans figure **** out before the beta is even released =p
