I've got an idea for a switch, and I currently do not have a working television so I can't test it out. This switch is for Asset only.

A killball spawns in the secondary spawn rooms [basic infantry, jetpack brutes, stalkers, chieftans, etc.], to kill anyone still in the room. The rooms are also filled with blocks to prevent spawning there yet again. This happens at 3 minutes.

Somewhere else on the map, there is another spawn room, with a specific item to access, such as a bunch of snipers or Banshees. Block, smalls cover these spawns, and are pushed off by mancannons. A fusion coil must land on one of these, as movable objects are static until moved by some active force. The attackers are then forced to spawn there, and have access to the Banshees or whatever, and attack the ODST team as a final battle.

This would be like the final wave. Banshees, chieftans, jetpack brutes, whatever you want to attack.

I need somebody to test out this switch. Also, here's a picture of what it looks like:

I think it's a great idea, but I don't see how it would be implemented into asset very well.

I say it'd just be for the final attack, like a bunch of vehicles rush in, or a bunch of jetpack brutes and 2 chieftans, whatever you want. Of course, the escape vehicle would have to be placed away from the holdout area, so you would have to travel there, and these guys would try to stop you.

Ah, now I see. Basically adding a bit of flare to asset. I like the idea. :)

I may or may not make an asset map, I can't really decide, but If I do, I'll experiment with the idea. The only thing is, it seems like the hornet could be taken down much easier.

I already incorporated this idea into gunnergrunt and my asset map ridgeside that we just posted. It used a teleporter that gets unblocked for the vehicles that only spawn at 4 and 5 minutes due to a delay spawn switch i use. And the specialty classes like chieftans are in separate rooms with switches that unblock the spawns later in the round and so that it limits the spawn of those classes.

I thought specialty classes were based off chance. Say you have 25 spawns on the map. 15 of those spawns go to the normal infantry. 6 go to vehicle-specific spawns. 3 Go to Stalker spawns. One of them go to Chieftan spawn. That means you have 60% chance of being a normal infantry, 24% to be a vehicle, 12% to be a stalker, and 4% to be a Chieftan.

Anyways, this switch basically removes all those and gives you an 100% chance of spawning into a new spawn.

Ok i see what you're saying now, your switch is more of a spawn change-over for the final wave. Yeah, for my switch it opens the teleporter when the vehicles respawn so people don't waste time waiting, and for the specialty classes it's just one spawn in each booth and 10 spawns at the attacker respawn. That ratio hasn't failed in only giving me one chieftan and a handlefull of the other classes.

    That's not a switch.

I didn't know what else to name it... A map event? :p

    I agree.

Yes that would be the most suitable name.

I think this is a nice event idea, but remember that they will also spawn at the points on top of the block and fall down which will be annoying. A sliding block over a spawn point would be more suitable IMO. So a block spawns over the original spawns and a sliding door which covers a few point opens up and allows players to spawn there.

A block, small can only cover about 3 Spawn Points. I was thinking of having the blocks get pushed out of the way by Mancannon, but they would have to be 'activated' by a falling fusion coil or such, like the proximity switch.

I just used the Chieftan as an example.
