The Adventure of HFF Chapter 1: First Rounds “Covenant 400 yards and closing” Buzzed Pariah’s radio. Everyone was nervous as hordes of covenant closed in. Pariah griped his Br55 tight as he wiped dirt off his visor. Brewer wielding dual sub machine guns locked and loaded. This wasn’t his first time they were in a sticky situation. “Covenant 350 yards and closing” “Alright this is it men. This is what we were made to do. Let’s win this!” Yelled Pariah over the radio. The first rounds went off… Brewer being one of the best shooters in the universe had turned off his radio and had killed most of the aliens. He had turned on his radio to contact Haloking1721 saying that they are getting in there ship and fleeing and to order an Ariel attack. Then he had told Pariah about what he was going to do Pariah had agreed. But there were also some on the ground fleeing he got in to his brute chopper and splattered them all with the site of the Chopper. "We've got a problem." Aussietom said. He was in the sniper tower, serving as a lookout and sniper. "We have three Wraiths coming in to the north. We used the last of...Damn!" A Beam Rifle shot just missed his head. He immediately killed the Jackal that shot at him. "We used the last of the rockets on those Banshees earlier, and we can't get close enough with all this ground support to jack them. We have to find cover. Brewer, radio into Haloking again and tell him to hurry!" One of the Wraith's mortars had just flipped Brewer's Chopper, so he was running back, mowing down anything in his way with his SMGs. But before he could radio in to Haloking, Jonah shouted over the radio "Something is coming in above us!" Everyone looked up, but Pariah was the first one to realize what was happening. "They're going to Glass us! Oh my god! They die but come back to life" said Evelo. "If we cannot figure out how to kill them for good, we are all DOOMED!" Said Brewer "Let’s try grenading them, on my cou..." Pariah fell to the ground as a rock hit his head, knocking him unconscious. Commander Caden Brewer Had a Quick Thought! Brewer Jumped in the Gauss Warthog as the driver Hoffer as the gunner and Haloking as the passenger. The Motor powered up with a burnout drifting to the left. Brewer Said fire as the 3 Wraiths where in target! Hoffer was going crazy on that gunner! Haloking was getting a head ache from all the noise Hoffer was making so he jumped out and smashed the elite out of one of the wraiths. Brewers Awesome driving skills dodged most of those mortars and Hoffers Amazing gunning skills killed one of the wraiths whilst there was still one left. Jonah was on the radio to the air strike team. Calling air strike team we need an air strike at 65 Degrees North. In the distance we heard the sounds of the jets. The Coward elite jumped out of the wraith and escaped the air strike which destroyed the wraith. All of a sudden BAM from a sniper rifle the elites head was popped off! It was AussieTom, and some medics to help the injured marines like pariah who was now well enough to battle again. Evelo in the Watch Tower saw in coming ghost and ground troops, this was HELL on EARTH. Hoffer cursed. 'I'm dry.' he announced, hurling the chain gun into the churned up mass of corpses below. Looks like we're going to have to make this fight up close-and-personal. Covering support?' 'I'm on it.', said AussieTom, jumping down from his makeshift barricade, assault rifle at the ready. 'That's a no-go, you two.' announced Jonah with resignation in his voice. 'Much as I'd love to give those split-lips some payback for Reach, air support arrives in two minutes, along with a crate full of Ferris Warheads. The covenant are all going to be blown to Hell, and I'm not intending for anyone else to follow them down. Brewer, pull out!' 'Bad time, I got Wraiths on my tail, and my tires down, requesting immediate assistance! Over 'Negative Brewer. The Chain Guns are down, and the covenant forces are too thick on the ground. You'll have to find your own way out.' ‘with respect, Jonah,' replied Brewer, a hint of irritable pressure in his tone, 'I don't think these guys are going to willingly step aside as I get out of the 'Hog, wipe my feet, and strut happily up the red carpet.' 'Haloking, what is your position?' Shouted Hoffer over the COM. 'I'm pinned', came the reply, 'Covenant forces on my six and one. Spec Ops, I think and a Zealot to boot.' 'Zealots? DAMNIT! The Covenant is really getting edgy.’ grunted AussieTom. 'Least we haven't got the spiky blue bastards yet. Count your blessings.' announced Brewer methodically. 'Guys, I could use assistance, since you all seem to be standing around exchanging pleasantries.' 'Negative HaloKing, Damn, Where is our support?' 'Echo 621, do you copy, over?' 'Roger, this is Echo 621', came a statically distorted response, 'We are taking Banshee Fire, and can’t shake em... Damn, airbrake Failure, we're going down...' 'Damn, looks like we can take air support out of the equation.' *** HaloKing loaded his final magazine, and pumped the bullets into the torso of the nearest Elite, who took the bullets willingly, glad to die for his faith. HaloKing was only too happy to grant him that honor. The Elite took the best part of the clip, but Haloking kept on firing until the rifle read 00, empty. 'Guys, I could use assistance, since you all seem to be standing around exchanging pleasantries.' He announced. 'Negative HaloKing, Damn, Where is our support?' Haloking switched off the COM and bit his lip. It looks like he has to find his own way out. Before he could fully form a plan, an elite rushed his position, and as a reward for its courage, it received a rifle butt blow to the head. HaloKing pulled out a Frag, pulled out a pin with his teeth, and hurled it into the midst of a gang of Grunts bearing Fuel Rod Guns. The subsequent explosions triggered the weapon's fail-safe protocol, and the ensuing blast was sufficient enough to take down 8 of the remaining elites. And then, out of nowhere, the Zealot appeared at his six, reared, drew an energy blade, roared its challenge, and charged. HaloKing's fear and anger coalesced into a single word. As he swore, he felt the combat knife he had been instinctively wielding drop from his palm, and stood still, numb and immobile in place with fear, waiting to accept his fate. The Elite charged, blade at the ready. HaloKing gritted his teeth and he stared at his opponent, eyes blazing with hatred, but powerless, helpless. All those years of training, those excruciating years of bio augmentation, of watching his comrades die from the aftereffects, was worthless now, in the end, he was as powerless as a normal human. He was not invincible, and he had about 4 seconds to come fully to grips with this new epiphany. The Gold elite twisted it's mandibles in what he assumed to be a triumphant smirk, raise it's blade with relish, and he saw it's head explode in a shower of globular mass. *** Corporal Evelo service number 60 - 41 - 07 was squatting in a trench about 80 clicks north of HaloKing's position. He gazed through his 10x scope with a practiced eye, searching hungrily for his first target. The COM channel crackled into life: 'Least we haven't got the spiky blue bastards yet. Count your blessings.' announced Brewer methodically. He clicked off the COM. At least he could lend that support, but it was necessary to keep off the COM so the Covenant wouldn't be able to track his position. He swiveled the barrel of the rifle round, and observed the fight before him. He saw a Black Spec Ops elite charging HaloKing's fallback spot, and was about to deliver the elite his last ''Welcome to Earth'' gift basket, when he saw Haloking plunge the butte of his rifle into the Elite's skull, and the alien crumpled twitchingly to the ground. The remainder of the fight was hard to follow, as it was followed by a huge explosion, and a mass of charred bodies accompanied this. He was about to try and contact HaloKing over the COM to check his status, but the smoke cleared, and HaloKing was still there, bruised and angry but most certainly alive and kicking. Evelo exhaled the breath he had been subconsciously holding in. And then, seemingly out of nowhere, a golden Elite charged HaloKing’s 12, drew an energy blade from its hip, roared and sprinted at him. He tried to steady his aim on the Alien's head. 'Christ, too fast.’ he said to himself. He saw HaloKing mouth something, and drop his weapon in Hand. Evelo began to panic. His comrade, his friend, was about to die, and there was nothing he could do. In his panic, he swerved the gun to his left and pressed down hard on the trigger. When he looked again, the torso of the Elite stood there, but something was wrong, for where it's head should have been, there was nothing except a gore drenched stump, and not merely 2 feet away, HaloKing stood stone still, his face a pale deathly white. It took the Elite a full 10 seconds to fall, but it felt like an eternity. *** AussieTom, Jonah and Hoffer were still contemplating the situation on the plain when Evelo's voice rang over the COM, 'Evelo to ground team, do you read me over?' 'Roger That.', relied Hoffer gruffly, 'But why are you forsaking your position?' 'There's no point now. We're all clear at my end.' 'Your vitals check out. Status?' 'I'm fine. But this is serious. HaloKing's going through shellshock.' 'No Way', said AussieTom, but the vitals didn't lie, his pulse-rate was erratic, and showed no signs of slowing. 'Echo 172, requesting you dispatch Pelican Drop ship for immediate evac, LZ is hot. I repeat, LZ is hot. We'll give you as much support as we can. 'Negative, Negative,' came the response, 'Covenant Phantoms are hovering about 3 clicks above your position, you'll have to fallback or fight them off.' 'Bullshit.' proclaimed Jonah. 'We can't keep fighting these guys. They keep coming, it's 7 against infinity here.' 'Phantoms,' said AussieTom, 'What kind of backup are they calling in?' I don't know what it is,' said Hoffer, loading a fresh clip into his M6D, 'but whatever it is, it can't be good. Brewer, report.' 'I'm in the middle of Hell here', said Brewer, 'Vehicle is DOA. I'm surrounded.' 'Brewer, Phantoms are landing on your eleven and two. Covenant reinforcements.' 'Damn, how many of these guys are there?' 'More to come.' Evelo's voice once again sounded over the COM, 'Phantom drop ship’s overhead, take cover!' 'No need,' said Brewer casually, slinging a Rocket Launcher over his shoulder. Both Rockets found their targets, and the smoldering remains of the plasma turrets dropped to the floor, crushing any Covenant life that had the misfortune to have been standing under them. AussieTom emitted a low whistle. 'Don't let your guard down yet, it's not over.' "I have three Phantoms to my eleven. Each one just deployed three Rangers." Aussietom announced. Why is the Covenant pushing so hard? They were just seven soldiers, guarding a small base. Evelo radioed in. "I've got Haloking, and we are returning to base." "Negative, Evelo" Brewer replied. "We are to hot down here. Find some cover, I'll tell you when things ease up." Just then, as Aussietom riddled one of the Rangers, he noticed an unwelcome sight in the distance. Another army, but this one was different. The Vehicles were more gray then the bright blues and purples of the usual Covenant vehicles. And the leader, with his enormous headdress, was carrying what looked like a giant hammer. Evelo must have noticed them too, because, in a panic stricken voice, he screamed over the COM, "BRUTES!" 'Hunters!' screamed Evelo over the COM, 'Aim for the unprotected orange flesh.' They all brought their assault rifles to bear, and Brewer fired first. Unrelentingly, he fired a burst of rounds into the left alien, which having little time to react, uttered a howl as orange blood splattered its thick armor, making it raise its shield in pain and rage. Taking advantage of this opening, the other three fired, and the hunter soon crumpled and fell. The one on the right enraged by the death of his bond brother roared his despair and grief. An object zoomed toward him, but his shield deflected it, and sent it back spinning. The hunter turned to face this new opposition and charged. Evelo swore as he reloaded. The hunter ran at him, and he reflexively combat rolled to one side as the hunters two-ton shield crashed down where he had been one second previously. 'Haloking, I could use some help here!' Haloking's head swiveled slowly, his face wearing an expression of despair. '****.' was Evelo's word of choice. Brewer was at the time fighting off a horde of elites with a pistol, when the COM crackled into life: 'Brewer, requesting immediate extraction. HaloKing's case is critical, he's a liability. And with this Hunter, he's a sitting duck.' 'Confirmed, requesting drop ship now.' 'Better make it a quick delivery,' came Evelo's voice, 'This thing won't...' And the COM went dead. Evelo heard the blow resound through his head before he felt it. He saw the ground flying by three feet below him, before crashing to the ground with an aching dizzy sensation. The Hunter roared its triumph, and brought its gun to bear. 'Damnit', swore Evelo. This was the end. He closed his eyes for the wave of heat, the instant of intense pain. But it never came. Instead came a resounding crack, and the Hunter, gurgling and spouting fluorescent blood, toppled to the floor, to reveal HaloKing, smoking pistol in hand. Haloking offered him a hand. 'Thanks', said Evelo gruffly. He looked around for the COM, and found it. 'Brewer,' he said, 'Heading to your position, area clear, how're things at your end?' Brewer was in the process of rounding up his troops for an area search of his dead squad mates when the COM crackled back to life. 'Brewer,' came Evelo's voice, 'Heading to your position, area clear, how're things at your end?' He exhaled the breath he had been subconsciously holding in. 'All clear soldier. Status?' 'I'm fine, and HaloKing's back in action, over.' 'Roger that. Hoffer, Aussie, Jonah, stand clear of the LZ.' As they sat in the drop bay of the Pelican, Colonel Brewer forced some pills into HaloKing's mouth. 'We did it sir.’ said Hoffer from a corner of the bay, 'we’ll live to fight another day.' ‘agreed,' said Brewer nonchalantly, 'But that was close, soldier, too close for comfort.' haha sorry none of that in this chapter mabe next one! but what do you think? I was hoping someone could make a video series for chapter one, anyone? CHAPTER 2 PREVIEW! "When the hell are we leaving?" Although the words came out of Jonah's mouth, everyone was thinking the same thing. Recently, the cordinates of a Covenant base were discovered on Saber, the planet on which the HFF had just encountered and fought off an entire army of Covenant by themselves. This was also thought to be the base in which Pariah, a member of the HFF, was being held as a prisoner of war. A complicated attack was planned on the base, and even though saving Pariah wasn't in that plan, they were going to make it happen. "As soon as the Pelicans are loaded and all the soldiers are here." reassured Brewer, although he was anxios himself. "Can't they go any faster?" asked Haloking, "What ever happened to keeping all the supplies ready for evac?" "Give them a break." said Hoffer. "Sure they are going seriously slow, but they just went through hell, same as us." " But they had an actual army," said Evelo. "while we only had seven soldiers." Aussietom was about to speak, when at least 50 soldiers entered the hanger. "It's about time." he said. Just then, Sergeant Downes entered the hanger. "Attenion!" shouted Brewer. Everyone jumped to their feet and saluted the Sergeant. "At ease, men" Downes said. "As you know, you are about to infultrate a Covenant base, something no one but Spartan 117 has been able to do. Keeping this in mind, I have also assigned this mission to two specalists. Predator, Echo, get in here." Two men entered the room. "These are two of our finest soldiers. Echo," one of the men stepped forward "is skilled in vehicular combat. Predator," the first man stepped back, and the other forward "is trained in stealth. They are now part of your little group. Fight together, think together, win together. Do I make myself clear?" "Yes sir." said Brewer. "Good. You may now leave on your mission." As soon as Sergeant Downes left the hanger, the HFF, including the two newest members, grabbed their weapons and climbed abored the nearest Pelican. As they left the hanger, Brewer turned on some music. "Dammit, not this 'rap' stuff again." complained Haloking. Brewer responded, "Hey, as your commanding officer, I get control over the radio."
John Stalvern waited. The lights above him blinked and sparked out of the air. There were demons in the base. He didn't see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to Cernel Joson were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway. John was a space marine for fourteen years. When he was young he watched the spaceships and he said to dad "I want to be on the ships daddy." Dad said "No! You will BE KILL BY DEMONS" There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the space station base of the UAC he knew there were demons. "This is Joson" the radio crackered. "You must fight the demons!" So John gotted his palsma rifle and blew up the wall. "HE GOING TO KILL US" said the demons "I will shoot at him" said the cyberdemon and he fired the rocket missiles. John plasmaed at him and tried to blew him up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill. "No! I must kill the demons" he shouted The radio said "No, John. You are the demons" And then John was a zombie.
