I call these switch: anti-vehicle switch i found this switch while foolimg around on forge with tin cups and found that they had a magnet. So imagine you are going to enter an enemy base with a vehicle and suddenly you start flying to a block.this switch can be used to stop vehicles from coming to bases(i know there are shields but this is a trap that fools them, making the vehicle get stuck on the roof). The other mechanism is a space ship(spartans try to jump into the spaceship but cant reach so they grab a vehicle and suddenly they start flying into the spaceship).I dont know if there are any other ways to use it but use your imagination and try diffirent mechanisms maybe an elevator could work(it attracts movable objects too).now the screenies!!! proof:Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details even more proof:Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details look at it is destroyed but still flying!Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details lets try with a tank Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details destroyed but still flying Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details here is the trick Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details if you dont know how to build it download this:Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details
I already knew Tin Cups were magnetic, but I think you're the first to have the idea of hiding a few behind a wall.
Dude, Rifte Gifle made a Pelican using almos the same Idea but with a gravlift. Not really a new switch. However it's still cool how its floating even though its blown up.
I'm not sure if this really counts as a switch! Isn't there supposed to be some sort of chain reaction or something? but cool idea!
Well, I wouldn't count it as a switch, but it is definitely a good idea. However, you need to embed your pics as shown in the video above and since I THINK this is a map post, you also need a DL link.
There are a lot of things wrong this thread: It has no download link so it doesn't fit in this section There is no pictures embedded if it was intended to be posted here The title of the thread isn't a very good one, and I would recommend changing it It isn't exactly a switch, so don't classify it as one To learn how to embed pics read the above post. Please no one else post about the not up to standards after this or I'll report them. EDIT: k well it has a download link, but still no embedded pics.
I experimented with this stuff the second mythic was released, so you are a little late for something this old. To the people that say this only works on certain objects, the pull is magnified the more objects that you have and the mass of the object being attracted affects the strength of the pull. No amount of tin cups can hold onto a mongoose. Wraiths take 2 tin cups to retrain from leaving them, different vehicles take different amounts of tin cups. "Hiding" something is nothing new. People have done that with teleporters, scaffolding, etc. for months now. Now, grav-lifts and this have nothing in common, that is like comparing a pallet door that you hit to one with an RB flip component that opens a dumpster door. Next, with the definition of switches, you can;t just say: You have to do something in order for a reaction. In my book, a switch is any advanced component in Halo. If you exclude this, you also exclude the rotating grav lift and some other pretty important stuff. To finish, NEVER put "new" in the name of a map. One of 2 things will happen, both with the same outcome. A) You will post something that is not new and look like an idiot, or B) It will eventually be old, the part A will apply and you will once again, look like and idiot.
You have been on forgehub long enough now to know that there should be pictures that people can see without going through links, and to link to the title instead fo "Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details." Atleast you could have a relevant title.
How the the magnet work? Does the bottom of the tin cup attract vehicles? Or is it the actual "cup" part of it? And how well does it work? From what you're saying, it sounds like it can pull vehicles from quite a distance away. And usually a speeding chopper can get past most things like this. Someone please explain in greater detail?
