I was extremely bored and decided to play my very, very old Nintendo Gamecube and even older Nintendo 64. I was thinking about how the games would look today, and thought it would be hilarious to see all these games take on a new, first-person, more modern form. Is there any software that can do that? I am not looking for a progam that could make a game, just one that I could make a 3D movie from a first person view. If your having trouble picturing what I'm talking about, just picture a Call of Duty style gameplay, only in a game like Super Mario Sunshine. I plan on making a series of these videos, basing them off old games. For anyone who still doesn't understand I basically want to do this: YouTube- Halo 3 Uncensored (machinima) to games like this: http://firsthour.net/screenshots/pikmin/pikmin-cover-thumb.jpg (I'm too lazy to embed it =P .) Only I'm not going to just use a screen recorder and add blood, I want a program where I can start from scratch and have many customization options, so I can re-create a game, only from a first-person point of view. Is there any such program?
No, if you want to do this, you are going to have to do everything from scratch including animation and models. Good idea, difficult execution.
Yeah, what you're talking about doing would require a ton of work. Check out this video, I'm not sure if you're talking about that kind of thing. YouTube- Super Mario Bros in First Person
lol gary's mod mario Anyway no i don't think there is a program that will do this for you, looks like you're gonna have to do it from scratch
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. And since it appears I'll have to do it from scratch, are there any 3D, first-person movie makers? (Preferably for a fair price)
well you could get gary's mod off steam, i think it requires 3 other games but there all around £10 for digital download. Its not a movie maker its a game maker but you could use it to make a movie, it's what was used to make that super mario vid that RaVnzCRoFT posted
Well, it seems to me like this will pretty much require 3d-modeling and animation. That is very complicated stuff as is, believe me--I've done it a number of times before and I'm still not great at it. Nonetheless, Gmax is a free and dumbed-down version of Autodesk 3ds Max, which is arguably the best 3d-modeling software available for video games (to my knowledge, most professional video game companies use it). I say dumbed-down because 3ds Max costs $3500, so clearly you're not getting everything in Gmax that you would get in 3ds Max. However, Gmax still leaves you with everything you would ever need for a project like this: modeling tools and animation compatability.
